Why has no dev ever tried to recreate a game using the zelda format?
It is one of the, if not the most influential franchises in gaming yet to my knowledge the best any dev has done to copy it's formula is okami.

Well the simple a new darkness has risen quest to save a damsel, humble beginnings where a hero is grown.
Adventure in a large world, talking to civillians, quests ect.
But the real formula I mean is dungeons and the need x to enter and complete a dungeon (not metroidvania of course) but I can get x until I get x and I can't do x until I do x
If you have ever played a zelda game you know that it is a unique genre onto it's own and no other game is like it. While it's official genre title is action adventure, it's far from the same game as batman arkham for eg.
