At later areas, you stop bumping into vials like you use to. You'll notice you'll be using them up because getting hit in this game is inevitable. I went back to the first area and farm about 25 bloodvials until i had a good stock of them. They don't heal you loads, so they get used quickly. I can tell you probably havent played the game tho

user, I'm telling you. You don't get bloodvial drops at later areas. you get like 1 or 2. You must be buying them in bulk and then having no souls for leveling up. I've played the game and this is how it goes for most playthorughs. You're going to tell me you don't need to farm silver bullets too?

I sold a lot of the shit I found and never used. Never really had to farm vials or bullets, but I did buy bullets now and then just so I had some in reserve.
The secret is to not pump vials until you've learned the area.

See there we go. You bought them. That's the worst thing you can do. I did this in my first playthrough and it gimps you a lot. I was severely under leveled by the time I got to the final boss and was doing chip damage. Save the blood echos and put them into leveling instead.

You shouldn't have to do anything when it comes to bullets unless you're running an Arcane or Bloodtinge build even if you are spamming parries. Even on my Arcane run I've only ever run out once and that's just because of Eileen's final target. You always get 3-5 bullets from anything that uses them and even stuff that doesn't.
Blood Vials only start being a problem once you reach the DLC or Chikage boy and even in the DLC the axe assholes and all the Hunters drop 3-6 vials per kill. The Great Bridge in Yarnham itself also nets you a minimum of eight vials from the beasts plus the one brick guy then another 6 if you go down the stairs to those two brick guys wandering around.

This isn't exactly breaking the fucking bank, now. I might have gotten a few levels total if I hadn't bought them, which really isn't going to make much of a difference.
If you have to make up the gap between you and the enemy with pure number padding, that's a you problem.
