Some of his weapons are pretty baller particularly the guns. Armor doesn't have the most amazing set bonus after testing the numbers but its skills and slots are quite good.

Man, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong here.
I'm trying to solo him with GS and I just cant seem to do it. No matter how much I hit him, he just doesnt die, and I have only ever once met his elemental damage check and cant seem to do so since.
It's really starting to wear on me, it's to the point that I'm just trying to swing at him as much as possible with disregard for breaking anything but his head and it's still not enough. Makes me feel even worse cause other anons called it braindead easy to meet.
Is there something I'm missing here? A special technique or something? What's even the best spot to focus? I'd post my build I'm currently using but I'm not at home.

Get frostcraft, Velk GS for fire phase start or Silverlos GS for ice phase start. Augment it for 3 points of elemental, then max out elemental damage skill. The rest is raw augments if you can afford them. Get blight resist 3. Memorize his openings and headsnipe him every single opening like you are playing oldgen. The only consistent TCS you can land which is worth it is the time where he makes velkhana fire breath, but it drains you health into shit, so don't bother. Or maybe his advancing triple thunder line, but there is next to no point doing it on critdraw.
Use smoke bombs to make him land or shoot him out of the sky with slinger if he is not enraged.
If you are aggressive enough, you can do it within 3 novas and around 16-17 minutes.

All his weapons are good except HBG, LBG is great for elemental builds but the HBG is just unusable in any way compared to the LBG,
The rest of his weapons will be meta when Capcom gives us for the next elder a dragon element dps check :^)

I just finish soloing him with elemental LBG, used Lunastra Empress "Soulfire" it has Fire and Ice Ammo rapid fire. If I didnt break the horn I had the ammo to deal with him.
Took 18 mins solo and 2 carts due to me being cocky on certain attacks but he doesn't have bullshit hit boxes suprisingly.

As someone that’s has 400 hrs in both games each, temporal on its own is better than any hunter art. It’s so stupidly broken, rocksteady as well, évasion, never mind health augments, clutch claw, 6 faints per hunt if you combine certain food buffs, the fact that you can have way more 20 armor skills in world, restocking items at camp, etc etc, the list goes on and on
Come on dude, I understand if you just don’t enjoy xx for other reasons like being framerate issues or being a snoyboy but this has to be the most misguided criticism I can find
