Nintendo Online

Why the fuck would I renew this? Nintendo online is pathetic. Their e shop, although not part of their online package, runs like shit. Does Nintendo have one guy working a 9 to 5 shift who's in charge of their raspberry pi server rack?

Nintendo online pros:
>A small handful of SNES and NES games you can emulate anyway or play on the other consoles you bought them on
>Tetris 99
>Cloud save that doesn't even work on all titles (Animal Crossing)

I can't think of anything else. Even ANIMAL CROSSING has the most backwards shit smeared way to visit towns. It's so slow and buggy.

If If you didn't kiss Nintendo's ass so much and actually complained once in a while they would be forced to make better services

>Paying for Nintendo Online

Are people really not using their gold points the way they should be?

it was fun to watch how sony and nintendo consolefags separately started supporting paid online just as soon as their manufacturer started forcing it on them

Fuck microsoft for normalizing this shit

I cancelled it in October last year when Splatoon 2 died down. Haven't looked back. Or was obvious when they stopped offering monthly games that they don't expect this to grow in a big way.

>Their eshop runs like shit
Man I have had a PS4 for years and can seriously say that the eShop is just better.
Yeah, it doesn't have a cart, that's the only drawback, but you get some money back and it doesn't perpetually crash like Sony's

But then again, Xbox's store is way better than both, I just wish it had the Gold coins program Nintendo has.

>Fuck microsoft for normalizing this shit

It's amazing how the Xbox 360 users just bought into it. Then again, it's mostly the Call of Duty crowd

Companies only listen to organized boycotts, but the Nintendo fan base is too headstrong for that to happen

NSO is Splatoon+Smash tax

explain
picked up a switch lite over covacation but dont want to pay another sub

>still no fucking Virtual Console
Seriously, someone explain this to me. Is it some kind of hardware limitation or are they just allergic to money?

>buy games
>get points
>use points for online

This holy shit.
Also online on Switch is cancer anyway I happily pirated mine and never looked back. All the few good games on it are single player anyway.

I blame the CoD crowd and the "insert EA sports game of choice here" crowd. They buy their consoles depending on which one the first person in their circle of friends buy, then they all buy it to play with them, and all buy the online to play with each other. It completely normalises the process, and they don't question it because of peer pressure where they don't want to be left out. We have generations of gamers who only know online play and didn't grow up playing same couch vs or co-op.

oh boy, is this the "i'm too stupid to take advantage of the family plan and pay next to nothing for online" thread? i don't wanna miss the seething retards lose their minds!

No, this seems to be the "I cope with paying for a service that should be free by insisting that I'm smart for finding a way to pay slightly less money than other people" thread.

It’s literally free if you buy games, retard. Pretty much exclusively a poor people problem since they don’t have money for games anyway

It is pretty shit desu. You'd only use it for two games realistically:
>Smash Ultimate
>Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 has died down and everyone is just waiting for Splatoon 3. Smash Ultimate has terrible online. If you don't plan to play either of these two games heavily then it's simply not worth it.

There was a boycott of sorts, to the point the CEO was disappointed on the incredibly low number of subscribers to the service. Instead of addressing any issues with the service, they just made it free via twitch prime for a while and started practically giving it away with certain bundles. I suspect the number of active subs is still a fraction of what they wanted, but they clearly lack the competence to improve their online service at all.

I use mine almost exclusively for mario maker. Smash online is hot garbage and I don't play Splatoon as often anymore

mario kart 8 deluxe online is pretty good actually, it's still a bit wonky but it's at least playable and looks like a godsend compared to ultimate online

Why don't you stop buying things you don't want? What's wrong with you?

pretty sure all the nintendo fans hate it and try to get it free or as cheap as possible, or skip on it entirely.

>It’s literally free if you buy
user...

I only have it for MHGU multiplayer.

>It's amazing how the Xbox 360 users just bought into it
Alternative was ps3 online
And it was so bad, that des players specially bought das for xbox just to avoid repeating that shitfest(they were for big surprise, this time thanks to FROM)

>your gold coins expire
Nintendo are truly the biggest kikes in gaming.

>unironically playing worst monster hunter

that's not what I got from all the posts along the lines of "it's only $20/servers are expensive/"Free" ROMs/it should cost more!"

There is no way any of those posts are serious, assuming any such posts exist at all. Look just about anywhere on the internet regarding switch online and you'll see complaints. At best, you might have someone saying "at least I got mine free/cheap"

Would you like to buy a hamburger? Only 1 Dollar
Cool... wait a minute... this isnt Beef. ITS RAT... and where is the Ketchup and Bread?
HEY AT LEAST ITS CHEAP!

>If If you didn't kiss Nintendo's ass so much and actually complained once in a while they would be forced to make better services
You forget that they upped their offer of VC games from "1 game a month" to a library of games BECAUSE the shittalking about their online before it became paid. Like it was somehow planned to be even SHITTIER than what we got, so they pushed it back a few months.

>food analogy

How come post gamergate Zig Forums is full of faggots who constantly looking to others for approve of their actions?
I mean, who fucking cares about you renewing your sub? Not us, that's for sure.
If you don't want to pay for something, then fucking don't pay for it. You aren't a kid anymore who will be shamed by your friends for not fitting in, and we aren't your friends either.

>Buying shovelware for pennies worth of points to evade the online tax
The Switch does not have enough worthwhile titles to do this.

dumb memer

But you could spend those gold points on game purchases instead and save the same amount of money, there's nothing that ties it to the online.
