I'm trying to compile a list of good fantasy RPGs that are often overlooked or otherwise criminally underrated, i.e. essential games that any fan of the genre should play.
I'm purposefully excluding titles everyone knows that were largely critically acclaimed like TES series, Souls series, Witcher series, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, Icewind Dale, PoE, Divinity, etc.
So far I've got: >Dragon's Dogma >Gothic series >Arx Fatalis >Dark Messiah of Might and Magic What else should I add to the list?
really? all i remember hearing about this game back in the day was that it was completely broken and nearly unplayable. was that all bullshit or did they fix it?
Ryan Hughes
its basically just another gothic but Risen is kino I heard the sequels were shit though
Anthony Lewis
They fixed it, but it's deff acquired taste.
Nolan Young
>Dragon's Dogma >Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Those are action games and barely even RPGs.
Adrian Diaz
dumb take, ARPG's are RPG's as much as any other game listed here.
Adrian Gray
Here's my take: Anyone who says "take" is mentally deficient. Now suck my cock faggot.
Lucas Torres
nice take bro

Legit question: what's up with this meme where the chosen one always stands in front of the monastery in gothic 2 with end game gear?
Samuel Perry
>gothic why are polacks so good at making RPGs? I noticed that they don't have that D&D influence in their games though, so you are likely to play as premade character in polish RPGs.
Gothic was German, but yeah, I can see why someone would confuse it, given the fact that whole of Germany made like 2-3 good games in their entire history and all of them are forgotten
