its a game with a bad story
id rate it 7.5/10 just cause the story was paced horribly
Gameplay and Graphics is great

Lmao it's a 6/10 at best. This is coming from a Sonybro.

So it's like MGSV in that regard?

I never really "played" anything to win. It doesn't look like a flop, but it's TLJ franchise killing disaster, the game is a lot more hated in non English speaking communities simply because the west is so demoralized people pretend it's good just because there's "diversity" in it. Also it's showing some very weak sales legs compared to Spider-Man and Gow.

So yeah, not a flop but weak legs and very mixed reception.

No because MGSV is never this bad and the story never gets in the way so much as this game. You have non game-play segments of nonsensical shit that feel like they last for hours

Gameplay is overrated IMO, very simple stealth and combat mechanics, and constantly looting the same five items is so dull

To kill off Joel like that took some brass.

What do you think the lifetime sales will look like?

>Is the game a flop?
No, a lot of people bought it.
>Did we win?
Do we ever?

I don't know but it went from fastest selling PS exclusive to third fastest selling PS exclusive in only 20 days, and it's only downhill from here. And this is the end of the console cycle and a sequel to a much hyped franchise, so like the reception the sales feel very meh

The game is not a flop.
It sold like hotcakes, casuals don't care for leaks or story.
Every criticism of this game will be silenced through homophobia, transphobia, and anti-semitism.
Druckmann won.

That’s funny, because I think what doesn’t work is the gameplay, the story is good but it doesn’t reflect in the gameplay, we are supposed to feel bad for Ellie losing her humanity while simultaneously like abby through this tale of revenge but the gameplay is so fun (explosive arrow, scopes rifles, melee executions ets) that I cant connect with the protagonist like the first game did.

the reception were probably different from the fans if the story wasn’t leak weeks before launch.

Solid 7/10. Gameplay and graphics are pretty good. AI is still dogshit. The entire second act undercuts the pace and it becomes like trudging through sludge.

We don't know the budget so unless someone here shows PROOF then it's all speculation. It sold a lot though but cost a lot to make. However it's not done selling yet despite the dropoff that people like regurgitating.

It’s reasonable to estimate it between $100 and $300 million based on the development cycle, Sony’s involvement, delays, and previous game budgets.

That's a huge gap and would put it as the most expensive game ever made if the 300 was correct. Do we know how much Uncharted 4 cost to make? It's probably similar.

Same. I'm a combat veteran of the System Wars on the PS3 side. I've seen people pick apart the game and it's NUMEROUS problems. From the way Druckmann wrote the story to how they deceived people in trailers, it's just an irredeemable piece of shit. I wanted it to be good to help with the crippling boredom of quarantine but it just did so much wrong that I couldn't possibly look past the issues. Druckmann is a narcissist and a sociopath.

Sold well first week. Sold far better than LOU1 did week one, which that game had a very good sales history from launch to 2019. However, the pacing and story was poorly received which makes people just don't want to replay, it had a very steep drop in sales after week one, and took seven years to develop. Did it flop? Not sure if it made up for cost+marketing since these numbers aren't always revealed.

I wonder if Sony will ever let him helm a game ever again now that he's exposed himself as a hack.

If you take a look at this list, most of the games that cost between $100 and $300 million (Modern Warfare 2 with $298 million, adjusted for inflation, is the most expensive game on the list) were multiplatform. The cost for games that launched on one platform are much lower. For example, Gran Turismo 5 cost $70 million. Heavy Rain, which launched on PS3 and then appeared on PS4, cost $60 million. Gears of War 3, a massive exclusive for Xbox, cost $55-68 million. It's not likely that The Last of Us Part II's cost was anywhere near that of GTA V, Destiny, or Red Dead Redemption 2.

I feel the opposite. The gameplay was kino and Abby was basically Joel 2.0. The story was downright atrocious though.

yes RDR2 sold over 20 million copies and BOTW sold 14 million. The last dyke barley sold 5 million copies. let that sink in

It’s single platform but it also had a substantially longer development cycle of most of those you listed. Gears of War was 3 years, The Last of Us 2 was 7. It’s speculation but I don’t see a world in which it was under $100 million knowing how many revisions Druckmann made to the story.

3/10 at best, except for the rat king bossfight it was always the same gameplay, the story sucked ass and naughty dog should pay people to even finish this piece of crap

>but it's TLJ franchise killing disaster
You people are deluded.

It was also marketed to hell and back.

Then why did they announce straight away that there wouldn't be a DLC? If they had faith in it, wouldn't they shit out at least one for the extra shekels?

It wasn't possible for TLOU2 to flop, the franchise is too big. It definitely undersold projections though, and the brand has taken a hit.

Probably because they're working on multiplayer.

So they can sell you multiplayer first.

They sold that many copies over the course of years. Because of the small install base of the Switch and the Wii U in 2017, it took Breath of the Wild 8 months to sell 3.84 million copies. (Source: gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-ships-274m-units-zelda-rises-to-38/1100-6449626/)

It was six years, not seven. Development began in 2014. By comparison, Heavy Rain took four years and cost $61 million (adjusted). Gran Turismo 5 took five years and cost $70 million (adjusted). It may have cost more than both these games, but we must be in this ballpark nonetheless.

gimme your predictions for the story of tlou3, i'll start

>abby and lev made it to the fireflies
>there they learn that they are very close to having found a vaccine, they just need a fresh blood sample from ellie or anything else that isn't fatal to her
>reluctantly, they go search for her
>ellie now lives like a hermit somewhere near jackson
>awkward "hey, zuko here" moment ensues when they get to her
>for some stupid reason ellie agrees to go back to the firefly base, let neil figure this one out
>trio adventures and bonding moments and zombies
>they make it to the base
>succeed in creating the vaccine
>lived happily ever after, the end

Please no more of these games.

My guess a development budget of $100 to $120 million with probably another $30 to $50 million in marketing.

nobody's buying anymore. stop spamming ur shit game u worthless kike faggot

TLOU2 isn't as bad as TLJ or something like Game of Thrones S8

You're going to get them, and you're going to buy them at least 5 times.
