Fair enough, the gravity suit color combination wasn't nearly as bad as I remember. I even kinda like it. I have to admit, I am digging this Mercury Stream version more than the original. It feels like it does a better job of feeling more feral. Which was kinda the point of the whole game. Samus becoming the hunted as well as part Metroid. To be fair though, the original design is pretty inline with the type of weird sleek and shiny shit that was coming out in the early 2000s anyway. I remember it feeling modern.

From what I heard Metroid 5 is dealing with the Chozo from SR so I don’t believe Samus will ever fight the GF since Adam can report the group from the CIA to the Federation council. Also, at the end of Fusion, she’s just a human/Chozo hybrid again, no Metroid DNA.

Insiders are saying it will, Samus will never be a fugitive and will never fight the GF because Nintendo considers Samus a hero and that goes against that. It will be hand waved away with Adam threatening the CIA to expose them if they try anything against Samus.

I completely forgot about this. Even now I have to question that as I remember it being that the final X she took in just removed the bad side effects of the Metroid DNA, not completely removed it. I need to refresh myself on Metroid. I still need to beat the Prime games. I never beat 2 cause I said fuck it once that item hunt came up again at the end and I can't bring myself to beat 3 for multiple reasons the largest of which being I no longer own any hardware to play it on and emulating is a bit of a dick since my system likes to do weird shit when I have any bluetooth dongles plugged in.
Personally, I was always a fan of what Dread was supposed to be. I also like the idea of Samus retaining some Metroid DNA and fighting her own internal battles as the DNA slowly makes her more violent until some pivotal point. Then I don't know, she can hang out with Metroids and they can do her biding? Would help connect that whole "Harmony with nature" thing they had going with Samus in the Manga.
