I have played Far Cry 5, New Dawn, and 4. I pirated all of them.

Personally I found 5 awesome the first time, but it gets worse each time you play it. 4 and Primal are far and away the best imo. I also went at them in a retarded order, cause that's just how I am.

Play 5 if you want the true Far Cry, it's the exact same gameplay as 3 and 4 but without towers and you get to shoot Waco cultists. Just install a mod that removes progression points from random world activities or else you'll be forced into the main story, making the map safe and boring eventually.

2 is a different game, more gritty, realistic, aged like wine, you just need a certain mindset to not get frustrated with it. Most anons will tell you that it's shit because enemy checkpoints constantly respawn, but this is a game about hitting these checkpoints, really.

tl;dr Just ditch the idea if you're not willing to accomodate to their flaws.

I played 1, 3, Blood Dragon, 4 and Primal and they were all decent. 1 aged like shit though and is unplayable unless you patch it

Start with 3. 4 is just a rehash of 3 and 5 is an absolute embarassment to the far cry series.

2 is also good but it doesn't really hold your hand and some mechanics become unbearable in 2020

Also, Blood Dragon has the best outposts to attack and 80s vhs action flick parody vibe done right, this is a must play.

Primal has the best ambience, but without guns, you quickly realize that you do not need bows, slings, rocks, spears etc, because you can just strafe run towards the mooks, break their line of sight behind some tree, pop out and do an instakill takedown, all in full sprint.

Far Cry 3, you have Vaas and it's the typical "teens travel and things go totally wrong" you don't see in many games

Fucking where? Game was pro conservative the whole way. The only problem was the nuclear bomb ending that ruined the game and it seems their retconning it and wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft wants to forget about New Dawn.
