Another thing, I never understood why they included all the bullshit with Desmond, the Animus, and ancient civilization nonsense in the first place. It just makes the story a convoluted cluster fuck. It's better off for the series if you cut that bullshit out and just have the games as they are. Different stories from different time periods centered around the Assassin/Templar wars. That's it

Black flag changed things up a bit, but still kept the same format. At least in the new era AC games, you can influence your own playstyle.
