I only had Future as a kid, it was a pack in with the Xbox along with Sega GT 2002 on the same disc. I really did love it and it does bring out a lot of nostalgia for me.
That being said, I played the original on Steam one time when Sega gave it away for free, and IMO

Bought this in the Steam sale, played it for the first time today. I'd heard all the Naganuma tracks and most of the others hundreds of times already, but actually hearing them in gameplay feels really nice. Everything in this game is aesthetically perfect, I love the look and sound and all the characters. My only problem is that the gameplay just feels a little too loose; I timed out trying to tag the Poison Jam guys twice before finally doing it because of how jank halfpipes are. I do think there's something there worth getting skillful at, but the controls push back at times. I especially hate how Tag and Center Camera are the same button when the game only uses four buttons total.
Also, the game wouldn't recognize my Dualshock 4's right analog stick so I didn't have direct camera control. Is this a known problem because it defaults to 360 inputs or just me?
