Triss was supposed to be Yennefer's replacement in Witcher 1 to distance the game from the books but it didn't work. My headcanon is that Geralt fell in love with Triss in W1, became more and more confused in W2 when his memory was returning, and later was only ever in love with Yennefer in W3. Truth be told not telling Geralt about Yennefer and Ciri and try and seduce him, while at the same time warn everyone else to not mention anything to "allow Geralt to remember naturally" is exaclty the kind of faggotry that double crossing book Triss would do.
