what probably happened is that since it was gonna come out around the third movie (which got delayed then put as only digital because of corona), Nickelodeon only allowed a small delay because they wanted money sooner, and a remake of a classic game would rake in the money that would've been lost from the movie not being in theaters. of course, it might not all be nick's fault, but i believe they were a major contributor.

it didn't get restored, he's pretty much just a souped up duplicatotron 3000, and the footage we saw of him waking up was just the intro to the mode.
