So where do we go from here?
Has Microsoft managed to reach the peak of controllers or is there more room for improvement?
So where do we go from here?
better d pad
just the D pad honestly
Bring back the 360 triggers and select/start buttons
Sweat-resistance.
I am getting a 360 one today, I prefered it over this one, but I understand why people would prefer this one
Battery pack included, it's pretty much perfect and my favorite controller aside from wired 360.
What's a 360 One?
xbox 360 controller instead of xbox one
xbone elite is sexy as fuck but the lack of gyros is painful
Add back paddle buttons and gyro to the standard controller
gyro, slightly better DPAD, paddles, rechargeable (bigger battery than ps4 though)
also let me bind the paddles to unique functions on PC at least
>Triggers without the weird sloped sides
>No more hard vertices or sharp angles, go back to the all smooth of the 360 controller
>Keep the clicky D-Pad
>Shell Plastic has a matte finish, so touching it doesn't leave visible fingerprints
>Reassess the ergonomics so it's comfortable to hold either with 3 fingers on the grips and just the index fingers on the triggers, or with index fingers on the bumpers and middle fingers on the triggers. This is not an unrealistic expectation.
>Make the diamond pattern of the buttons slightly wider, rather than a perfect equilateral lozenge shape it's in now. That config makes it more comfortable to rock between two buttons
>Rechargeable out of the box
>Offer swappable faceplates. You can have art from your favorite games on the controller, and it will make it easier to clean gunk out of the seams.
For me, it's the Wiiu Pro. I use this baby for my PC games now.
I'm going to get a little shit, but after the learning curve, this is literally the best controller I've ever used. Everything about this works surprisingly well. I know, the lack of a d-pad seems annoying, but if you properly adjust the left trackpad you barely miss it.
The sheer versatility of the Steam Controller is staggering. The control customization is unparalleled.
kys shills
it's niche useful. i use it for playing Elite Dangerous and Sims on the couch but the touch dpad is trash for anything that actually needs a dpad. i tried playing 20XX with it once and it was a nightmare
improved battery and gyro
what?
How the fuck can you possibly shill for something when the company that made it has completely liquidated their stock and is no longer making money from it? I'm genuinely curious what your through process is here, user.
The biggest thing I did for d-pad emulation was set the left trackpad to trigger on touch, then dialed in the specific pressure settings and angles in the settings.
New one seems to be a slight improvement. Some of the little things, are already seen in special edition Xbone controllers though.
By shilling for people to buy the controllers from the used market, thus feeding scalpers. Same can apply to shilling Sega products.
i generally use touch dpad but i still can't imagine it being tolerable for anything other than menuing. i suppose i can try tweaking the sensitivity, but even map movement on a 2D rpg seems like a chore, and platforming is right out
What's wrong with the D-pad? It was garbage on the 360 controller but the XBO d-pad is fine.
the ps4 controller had better contours
It's time consuming but once you get the d-pad settings dialed in it feels about as good as the 360's d-pad.
Back handle buttons like the elite by default
Maybe Gyro
D-Pad is decent enough but it could be slightly better.
Sorry, I like my controllers Japanese.
How's that battery life?
