I missed out on this drama at the time. It's strange... Vice City contains a long list of objectionable content when you write it down on paper, but it felt completely harmless when I played it as a kid, and it still feels very carefree and low-impact now.

It's really hard to imagine this game warping a child's mind. At the very worst it might teach them some naughty words, lead to some inappropriate playground reenactments, or prompt some awkward questions. Those are still legitimate concerns but were there really adults who played/watched this game in 2002 and considered it some kind of hardcore murder simulator?

He was absolutely right about age restrictions on video games and the fact that children shouldn't be able to own or play these kind of games. You ever played an M/18 game online before and dealt with a child playing it? Constant screaming, swearing, crying and getting angry. Children can't handle these kinds of games due to the amount of shit parents out there letting their kids play them without supervising or actually parenting them. It was annoying as fuck back in the day buying a game in a store only to watch some parent buy their kid a game they weren't allowed to themselves while that kid was standing right next to them. Going after video games might not be the most fair thing to do but you will never be able to get these shit parents to actually raise these little shits properly so it's the next best thing you can do.
