What a load of crap. People didn't cancel their Death Stranding pre-orders because reviewers couldn't compare the gameplay to other games, they cancelled their pre-orders because tons of reviewers basically said "The game is not fun, at least not in the traditional sense, but it's impactful and deserves to be played". If I wanted something impactful I'd watch a movie. I play games to have fun and I'm not going to pay full price for one that clearly isn't.
