It's the best 2D Zelda for sure

no this is patrick

No, Ages is

I remember it fondly, and it had no bullshit sections like jabu jabu.
Such a comfy atmosphere

It's the best 2D Zelda for whatever that's worth.

Is seasons better than ages?

They're both good but I like Ages better. Mermaid Dungeon was fun

Wasn’t seasons the easy one

no, switching seasons gets tedious

See
>"Seasons is better because it was easier!"

>Minish Cap
>Oracle of Seasons
>Oracle of Ages

Why is it that the best Zelda games are the ones that weren't made by nintendo?

Are you fucking retarded

I like replaying them with the randomizer mod:
github.com/jangler/oracles-randomizer

Seasons is more action focused while Ages has more complex puzzles. Seasons specifically is based on Zelda 1 because the Oracle games were originally a Zelda 1 remake.

>best 2D zelda
>not ALTTP

>not lttp2/albw

Seasons has significantly larger dungeons. And a lot more platforming and multi floor puzzles.
Ages has more puzzles, but not harder puzzles.

They are about the same, but Seasons progression is far more smooth than the dialogue triggers in Ages.
Age transition in Ages is also pretty cancer due how slow it is.

>Ages has more puzzles, but not harder puzzles.
You either need to replay ages, or you've played it so much that you can't look at the puzzles objectively since you've known the solutions for so long.

Yes, and?

How are you even supposed to play the Oracle games?
Complete one then play the other with the password?
Complete both on normal so you don't miss any content, and then one of them with the password?
Complete both games two times?

i prefered ages

>Seasons specifically is based on Zelda 1 because the Oracle games were originally a Zelda 1 remake.
Now i understand.
I played Zelda 1 for the first time the other day and the first and second dungeon bosses were the same as in Oracle of Seasons

Ages has both the worst (Crown Dungeon) and best dungeon (Mermaid's Cave).

And?
Season's isn't the easy one. Ages is, because there is little endurance needed.
Sure it has some dope setpieces like the Tower, but its merely a set piece instead of a rad megadungeon.

But its still apples to oranges.
Seasons has larger dungeons and a larger overworld, where the core mechanic(Seasons) is smoother integrated.
Ages has far more puzzles, but smaller dungeons, and the mechanic is kinda neat, but it plays like a worse attempt at Magic Mirror

Yes.

just because people parrot Ages=puzzles or whatever doesn't make it so

If you want to experience all the content for both games, you beat each twice. Better way to do it is beat Seasons->Ages(or vice versa). Wait until you get the itch again in a few years. Beat them again, but in reverse order. Playing the game 4 times back to back is gonna burn you out i.

No.

But this. It's easily the pinnacle of the 2D series.

rather than overthink the mechanics and difficulty i simple prefer Ages over seasons because time travel is cool.

>Not considering both games as one game.
I'm still mildly annoyed that Farore didn't get her own game, what gimmick could have it been based on?

Din = Seasons
Nayru = Ages
Farore = ?

fpbp

I'm saying this from having played it myself like a couple of years ago. It forced me to think more than any other Zelda by a long shot, and I had to look up some solutions as an adult. The ice block puzzle specifically sticks out in my head as a highlight.
>Season's isn't the easy one. Ages is, because there is little endurance needed.
You're only looking at it from a combat perspective. While I do agree that the combat in Ages is a joke, Seasons isn't difficult enough in that respect for it to matter, and definitely not enough to make it the more difficult game.

ALBW is only okay, it's like Minish Cap in that it has a cool concept, it's just too short to really be a remarkable adventure. The items thing also hurts the game design.

well it was gonna be called mythical seeds of courage so something with growth

Dancing Dragon Dungeon had the best theme though.

coming from experience a few years since playing a game can leave you thinking you know a game but when you give it a spin you realize you had stuff wrong
the rental system is one of a few innovative takes the game has, and the rest of the coolness is the fact it is LttP but more and better overall

I don't think they had an official title because of it being more of a localization team, but her gimmick was supposed to be about color. The color room/block puzzles in Ages are a leftover of that concept.

Seasons dungeons were superior after the third one.

Likewise, except for me I love season manipulation. Also made Seasons a shade more colorful as a result. I like both Oracles about equally otherwise.
