No

Yeah it's pretty bad
I wouldn't call it the worst game ever made but it was pretty bad. Not even "bad for a Souls game", just straight up bad.
But muh pvp muh QoL
Ds2 is a 6/10 that looks like a 4/10 due to being the successor of a 10/10.
Fortunately, it returns to looking like a 6/10 due to being the predecessor of a 5/10.
It's bad but I still like it.
If your whole understandment of gaming is Souls games then, yes. If not, no.
Its the best at technical level and design, youre just not ready for this conversation
Its fun if you want to play a simple game about killing stuff, leveling up, and getting loot. This is why DS2 fags like it. They are very shallow people.
No it isnt. Its DS post O&S bad, but its the whole game.
>This is still all the filtered kids can say
Brain damage: The Post
it's made by utter retards, but followed an almost entirely retard-proof formula, so it came out at least okay.
>Unironically thinking people give a shit about Souls difficulty, let alone thinking them as hard games.
>Shallow
No, shallow is DaS1's poll'n'poke 180 degree iframe backstab mechanics that casuals like you lean on as a crutch and is why DaS2 filtered you
The amount of replies kind of indicates how medicore this game was. People can't even be fucked to argue about it.
This thread hasn't even been up for 15 minutes
ds2 is the easiest one lmaooooo
You haven't played very many games if you somehow think that.
Every single one of these games can be beaten 90% by just rolling past whatever is attacking you and either backstabbing it or slashing at it until it turns around and you rise and repeat.
I'd like it more if nearly every enemy encounter wasn't just ambushes. Some enemies also seem to come out of nowhere.
Nice rebuttal.
It's actually the only Souls game I've ever played any of, back around its release, though I didn't get especially far. What is it that people hate so much about it compared to the others?
DS2 was literally designed to be appealing to casuals.
Its unpolished and most of its ideas, good or bad, are half assed or not implemented well.
It had a terrible dev cycle, so it's not really surprising. With a little know how, a lot of its issues can be alleviated. On a first playthough though, it can be a real test of patience.
After playing it multiple times, I've grown to look past its many flaws. Looking at it critically though? Bad.
Ds2 isn't that bad, my only big complaint is how they fucking stuffed areas full with enemies and made quick runs to bosses impossible. There's a dozen knights between the first bonfire and smelter demon at iron keep and theyre all in narrow hallways or bridges so its hard to just roll past them and even if you do they'll just knock you out of the fog gate. I already fucking beat them multiple times, I shouldn't need to fucking beat them again just to get another attempt at the boss
It is genuinely a vile sin against humanity. The fall of Rome was preferable to Dark Souls 2. Miyzaki-sama laboured intensely in an act more profound than that of love in order to bring the esteemed 'Souls' series into creation, like a God, only to see it shat on by the unutterable scumbags that made Dark Souls 2. Miyazaki games are genre defying diamonds of pure unadulterated experience that feed the soul in a way no man has felt since Da Vinci put paint to canvas. Dark Souls 2 is just a videogame, it's FUN. Ugh.
Its not that BAD.
But since dark souls 1 and 3 are loved games and dark souls 2 is the dark sheep with bad graphics, hordes of enemies, stupid bosses and levels and the worst lore of all souls games it has a bad reputation.
You just have to play it like it is. Just a horde killing simulator that simulates a souls game.
>The amount of replies kind of indicates how medicore this game was. People can't even be fucked to argue about it.
>Game came out in 2014
>Six years later we still have over eight Dark Souls 2 hate threads every day.
>Moron claims it's so bad nobody talks about it.
Stop basing your identity around disliking a videogame.
It's a good game but one of the weaker souls games.
This is the real secret. Bump ADP up a lot, farm easy bosses with aesetics, be aware of your stam and character limitations, the difficulty tanks and you’re just left with a dull PvE.
If you don’t even have a slight interest in DS2 PvP the game is a wash.
It's closer to a proper sequel to Demon's Souls than it is a sequel to Dark Souls.
I am actually awaiting a copy of this game in the mail because I am very curious about how I might like this game. People say it's the worst, but what differences I have heard of it sound very appealing to me. I hope I end up liking it.
>by general reception
lol do you think Zig Forums is representative of everyone?
>a proper sequel to Demon's Souls
That's Bloodborne.
I’d think this was more their initial intention if it weren’t for the fact that the game tricks you into thinking it’s going to be interconnected, and then you run into a primal bonfire room; I’d argue they’re some of the most rushed areas in the game.
The interconnectedness was a big feature going into DS1 after DeS, which is more why I feel DS2 should’ve been treated as a separate title and DS3 to be “DS2”.
I'd say it's more like King's Field.
>adjacent levels have zero continuity or influence on each other, thematically
>soul memory, in conjunction with invasions being possible while hollow or human, means that killing an enemy is pretty much always a bad idea if optional
>combat mechanics are poor, like hitboxes being massively oversized, illogical, or just badly keyed to an animation, so they linger to the point of you being able to take damage from a fully stationary sword, or nothing at all
>animations themselves are extremely floaty and misrepresent the actual mechanics within, like when a hollow softly brushes his sword against you and it can still take more than half your healthbar
>about half of all encounters come in some form of an ambush, and some of those even require you to preemptively dodge or block the instant you enter its "trigger"
>many of the other encounters are forced crowd management, where they didn't think to balance it like dark souls 1 did, where forced gangbangs are almost always against notably weak enemies
some of these existed as annoying glitches in dark souls 1 at worst
Ignoring the user you posted: It’s the lowest user score out of the three, is it not?
I'm legitimately curious how many threads have been made on DaS2 alone.
I'm going to guess it numbers in the thousands.
No, not even close. This is getting ridiculous. Its a good game but in my opinion, From's other games are on a much higher level. That doesn't mean its shit though, its simply their weakest game but still an enjoyable experience overall. It had the most troubled development but From has gotten over that now.
