I have no brand loyalty to Steam. It's simply that every other storefront is comparatively garbage in functionality. Valve might've stopped seriously developing games because of Steam but at least they're still updating it. SteamLabs alone is experimenting with way more end user features than any other storefront. Comparably Epic STILL can't even be assed to add a shopping cart.

I've been playing primarily on PlayStation since PS1. I usually pick up the Nintendo console eventually. I had a Switch for a while, but I gave it to my son after I beat Mario and hated Breath of the Wild. I don't miss it at all.

Sony's goofy censorship is a problem though. I'm not sure what I'll do if that keeps up. There's not as much weird Japanese stuff on Xbox. I don't want to miss anything from From Soft, and they do Sony exclusives once in awhile.

I already answered your point. I pay for games who deserved it. Specially for indie companies. But playing games for free on PC don't necessarily means I'm poor or I'm not contributing to the industry. Emulators are one of these cases.
