>Play on Hard
>Game is frustratingly difficult and feels unbalanced towards the AI
>Switch it to Normal
>Now game is insultingly easy and barely require the lowest amount of IQ to beat fights
Why's there's such a different in difficult from just 1 choice? This is the problem, the old fans want some uber hard game while the casuals barely wanna have to lift a finger. There's no happy medium.
Play on Hard

I'm assuming Hard=Maddening and Normal=Hard in this instance?
You assume too much. Just assume that OP=retard.
Yes. Actual Normal is so easy, I'm amazed people who play FE for the first time need it to be that overly simplified for them.
hard is not hard at all, it's probably easier than the gba games........you're just bad
Nigga hard is easy as shit, do you have brain damage or something?
>Maddening
Actually need to think and plan, but doable.
>Hard
Easy
>Normal
It plays itself
>OP
Retarded
In that case I agree. These Lunatic-type difficulties might as well be a completely different game in terms of how you play it, its really not fun at all. And then the Hard difficulties still feel pretty braindead
Hard is baby mode, normal is fetus mode.
How the fuck is Hard too difficult?
Based Arvisposter
>Hard is too easy
>Maddening is too crazy
I don’t even know what’s supposed to be the default difficulty
>NG+ maddening
its in between, leaning towards hard my dude. try it.
No seriously get better. There is a reason why so many early complaints were about the ease of hard mode that they had to add in Maddening.
I just want to play on hard but with unlimited battles like normal mode
The distant counter cup from the DLC rewards makes the main campaign too easy.
You’re talking about maddening right? The jump from normal to hard is near nonexistent but the jump from hard to maddening is fucking nuts.

That's the problem when FE games use pumped up enemy stats as the primary difference between hard and normal. The differences need to be involved with the scenario design, enemy types, and most importantly AI. I'll say this though, hard mode becomes piss easy later on, like all reclass/skill emblems do. I understand why people like unit customization but not every games should have it. It's too easy to make a death force.
>hard
>difficult
How much do you suck? I was actually bothered by how easy hard was in this game. You're too easily overleveled and all the characters are good.
>that artstyle
gross. This is why the [Western] button always is off.
Unironically get good. Raise Authority, equip better batallions, and actually USE Gambits.
>B-b-but Poison Strike archers!
Keep HP+5 on until your units start to take off, cook the HP+3 meal every month, and make use of effective weaponry (forging Hammers/Horseslayers gives them +20 hit).
Reminder that Arvis just wanted to create a world free of persecution and brought forth a 10 year GOLDEN AGE to Jugdral before his retard son and the Lopt sect took control.
Read the thread. OP is referring to Maddening.
maddening is pretty fun with NG+ on
>nukes your army
>becomes a meme
based
>NG+
Fucking casual
kek
I literally don't know why people don't play "Casual" mode. I see nothing wrong with it even as a veteran of FE. IF enemies can "flee" then so should your units. I just wish it was under certain perimeters, like dying from a crit or being too far from your allies. Maybe that's just too advanced for IS.
Maddening Casual no NG+ for me is just the right difficulty.
Three Houses wasn't balanced in any way conducive to iron manning either so you're not wrong.
hard is "I have played a videogame before"
normal is for FEHtuses to jerk off to their waifus while autobattling all that boring shit
maddening is actually pretty cool but at the moment I cannot play the school phase again after the first three times.
>hard
>frustrsting

Where is this art from? Looks very similar to this in style
milk
How is he such a chad bros?
It becomes playable on NG+. NG is just tedium.
can I turn Hard into an interesting challenge if I train my units wrong on purpose, as a joke?
OP never mentioned anything about maddening.

This guy's a fag but I think he's spot on in terms of permadeath in nu-FE specifically. IS has a foot in both pots here, they need to decide if permadeath is a function they actually want to continue designing around or not, because the way it is now its just a detriment to the game, whereas in older games it was great.
This. Its an oddball compared to most FE games in that you start with a full size deployment number, and aside from recruiting some faculty there are few new recruits that come naturally at a certain time.
Especially notable being absolutely zero new units recruitable post-time skip other than AM Gilbert and CF Jeritza/Lysithea.
Most FE games usually have some decent units join right before the final chapters just to make sure you still have a chance.
