Removing the Kremlings for new Dong was a good decision. It more clearly gives those game their own seperate identity. Wouldn't mind them coming back if they make a new Dong 3 though, as long as they can find a way to make them feel fresh and not just a rehash of DKC 1.

Treehouse rewrites are incredibly prevalent in Mario RPGs. The overall motivation is probably still the same but there's nothing to say that's the exact translation.
