If there's anyone here who has a lot of technical knowledge about what it's like making video games....
Would it have been difficult to make the whole open world full of patrols and driving vehicles? You know when you get those "heavy infantry" or "armored vehicle unit" side ops, would it have been hard to have those populating the entire open world?
If not, then it's absolutely pathetic that they didn't do that.
:OOO
It still hurts bros
nice horse butt
Just imagine, if they'd developed the open world reminiscent of MGS3, with a somewhat constant adventure onwards in mind which you can LATER explore forwards and backwards, instead of just being a blobby expanse of random locations with NOTHING to do between them... wouldn't it be grand?
Did... Did you never run from side op to side op? That is literally what happens user.
I regret wasting time on this shitty game

ON THE EDGE
All they had to do was make another four Ground Zeros-esque maps and call it a day and have the story tie it all together MGS4 style. LITERALLY ALL THEY HAD TO DO.
why did they decide that boring grindy bullshit was the direction to take this game in
Half the game was just the same missions on hard.
Man yeah I did, but the amount of empty space between it all still exists, and the majority of side ops happen within outposts as opposed to happening out in the world.
The game would've been good if they were activated all across the world instead of having like 2 or 3 non-outpost side ops active at any one time.
You can't seriously think that the "open world" of MGSV feels well populated by enemies and challenges outside of outposts, right?
If it is, then Ubisoft is light years ahead of the competition then, because Far Cry is full of this kind of shit.
Randomly generated patrols, both allies and enemies. Skirmishes. Convoys. Outpost Retaliation. There's even a neutral faction in animals, which can and do enter combat with each other as well as (You) and the enemy randomly.
I'm still baffled that Ubbysoft is currently the only developer doing singleplayer FPS decently. Even the less than stellar 5 and New Dawn are still playable and entertaining for a playthrough.
I'm looking forward to hopefully being pleasantly surprised by FC6 after being let down by its predecessor. Shame about the casting, though. Guy's a decent actor but got typecast hardcore. Fuck The Mandalorian.
>Fuck and Suck goes Sneed's!
No, he's right, there was almost nothing as far as organic patrols. A few trucks go between a few bases, and some tanks park at intersections. It's nothing.
Without knowing their engine intimately it's hard to say, but since the trucks work, it's almost a guarantee they could have had more intensive patrol systems if they had chosen to put time into it. I get the feeling much of the game was rushed, however. If you remember, before release they talked about missions playing out hugely differently, with different guard routines and shit... that wasn't really the case. I think they had plans for a more dynamic world and just got canned too soon.
Having to replay actual "main" mission later on was some of the most bullshit lazy time-filling lazy nonsense I've ever seen in a game. If there was ever a games development that needed multiple hours-long behind the scene documentary series made this is it.
All I ever saw were little foot soldiers and the odd supply transport (one car).
Between not being able to fly the helicopter in real time between ops jamming to Kojimbo's hit-or-miss musical taste and the game not incorporating more Hitman mechanics, I gave up on MGSV pretty quickly.
>>>GRRRRR, KILLING PAID MILITARY MAN AND PMC IN A WARZONE BAD! YOU GET BIG DUMB HORN AND TURN RED!!
I would listen to this song and Elegia on loop while at work in the weeks (months) leading up to release. Life was so much better then, I was so full of hope, excitement for the future...I want to go back bros ;_;
Daily reminder that Huey did nothing wrong.
I played it a lot because the core player and guard-AI systems are so good, but I ended up stopping once I hit a wall of knowing every routine, every response, every bit of opposition in advance. It really is a shame how little randomisation it had.

Sounds pretty based desu
Ocelot probably killed him
I think I stopped giving a shit once I stopped caring about fultoning soldiers, even higher ranks.
Best MGS game.
just like every mgs since 1
Do we ever see what Hal's step mother looks like? Emma is a qt, even if the bitch can't swim.
WOOOAAA-HOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH
How the fuck was Ground Zeroes so good yet MGSV was mediocre? Did this place brainwash me into thinking a 8 hour demo in the same base is better than the full game? I want to understand how the hell i had more fun with a demo than a full game.
it's almost like the game was released unfinished or something.
>I want to understand how the hell i had more fun with a demo than a full game.
It was a complete game, unlike 5. But to me, 5 was still fun to fuck around in with all the different gadgets and partners.
