Cant
not a very good way to start a thread. it's dead before it even began.
All the stuff they made for TZA. Although, to be fair, older games have a leg up since their art was often way more detailed than the base game could ever be. MM's stuff was particularly nice.
wanna watch me do it again
I like this art a lot but the style of older zeldas is infinitely better
The best game of all time also has the best art style of all time
Only iteration of young link that matters.
Very based
imagine preferring toon link to this
I will never not be mad that YL doesn't have a MM alt in Smash or any other sort of wider recognition beyond Hyrule Warriors. No idea why he gets passed over for deku shield/kokiri butter knife YL.
It's truly tragic. MM "hero shield" and Razor Sword would be the best. Plus a slightly more grown appearance. Would be aces. And that's before any consideration for moveset changes based around MM.
Real ad from Nintendo Power. Someone just shipped the Sept. 11 part in.
Dunno if better, but iconic as fuck
>Majora's Mask/OoT renders
You lads have absolutely excellent taste. MM's art style, with the shadows is fantastic. I honestly wish MM came out later - I am 200% sure that they would have made the lighting even moodier if it came out on the Gamecube. The shadow contrast would be insane and there'd be a hell of a lot of purple and black smoldering throughout all the atmospheres.
Also - MM Link has a clear progression from OoT. Kid was stoic as fuck in his art in OoT, but he's got a cocky smile on his face in MM renders. Which makes sense, he's experienced now. His model is even slightly taller in Majora's Mask (look at the way the camera fucks up when he uses the ocarina). Love that kinda stuff.
MM Link with the Razor Sword and Mirror Shield is a fantastically unique design that is horribly underused. Why the fuck didn't they throw that look into Smash Ultimate?
I'm still upset there hasn't been any new ones...
Love that 1950s/60s scifi aesthetics they did there
These 2 drawings actually show off pretty well how the art style changed with the remake.
Here is MM3D's box art render.
Not gonna lie, while I do think it's not as shadowy as it should be, you can't deny that this shit is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a massive fan of busy, huge ensemble drawings like this.
I bought a nice print of this off ebay for like $10 a couple years back. Was very worth.
It's not bad, but compared to it's extremely lacking. Everything about it is too clean and perfect for lack of better words.
No one responded to me, so just gonna post some more kino FFXII stuff.
It would work better as Ocarina of Time art.
I think what you're pointing out is that it's too rounded compared to the original MM art, which had a bunch of jagged edges and a harsher overall look.
Kind of, but that doesn't quite cover it. Going back to those link pics, 3D is much brighter and has way more contrast than 64. It also doesn't mix the colors it uses like 64 in areas like the boots, which makes it feel more clean rather than murky. There's also slight redesigns everywhere like the Razor Sword's handle being much more intricate and his hair having more bangs.
The reason I didn't want to say that 3D is more rounded generally though is because of how distorted the buildings are in the original in comparison to being very normal looking in 3D.
