That's why they split up on Retro Replay because they had some disagreements. Troy was acting like an asshole throughout most of the videos. He called himself a godlike gamer, also said he finished TLOU multiple times by himself, but he absolutely sucks ass when he played it on Retro Replay. He also couldn't shut up about his own performance during the TLOU playthrough, kept ignoring and cutting off Nolan to smell his own farts, every scene with Joel was "the best scene in the game", made fun of how Nolan wasn't good at the game (when he was just as bad) and so on.

Those videos made me really angry. I honestly thought those two were friends, but it seems like Troy is just a fucking asshole who shits on anyone he can, to be in the limelight. Nolan deserves better

I remember seeing him on a different podcast, I think it was Dropped Frames. Baker was acting like a pretentious snob through the whole thing. Talking how he loves poetry and books about smart men like Socrates. He also contradicted himself several times, everyone in the chat was laughing at him while the podcast co-hosts were pretending(?) to be amazed how smart Troy is.

I enjoyed Retro Replay when they were just two guys having a hang out and riffing while playing games.
The Last of Us playthrough is awful because Troy won't let Nolan just play it. Troy kept stopping him over and over again. The two moments that really pissed me off were Troy making Nolan watch the singing Marlene part BEFORE Nolan got to see the scene in game and the part where Troy stopped Nolan from viewing the end of the game without it being spoiled. It was clearly starting to bother Nolan because he hadn't played the game and was invested in it. Troy should've waited for the credits to talk about and show those moments. It sucks because I think they have great chemistry together. The final thing that killed it: All the fucking forced shit like spending an eternity reading of random schmucks names and other plugs. The lick the screen and altered beast shit just wrecked what was an otherwise enjoyable time waster. I only watched one of the quarantine episodes without Troy and will probably never watch it again. For awhile it was a fun thing to watch on a Thursday.

Troy always had an ego problem, it just got bigger and bigger with time. I've also heard rumours that he wanted to do more philosophical videos with Nolan and move away from their playthroughs and light hearted videos. Which kinda correlates with since he says he loves philosophy and poetry.

Yeah. He seems like a cool guy, very relaxed. A lot of people were shitting on Troy during and after that TLOU playthrough. Wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons why he left. I haven't watched the newer videos but it seems like a lot of people are happy that Troy left.
