It's not that bad in the audio dept. bro, most VA's are great and it has some nice tracks
It has pretty aesthetic most of the time and stellar soundtrack. Here. Also, saged.
Jannies, you can close the thread now.
I bet you think that Hans Zimmer is a great composer.
>VA's are great
Great at being bad, one-note actors?
Play mankind divided and you'll appreciate human revolution
Prove yourself right you intellectually lazy bastard. You made a positive claim with no contentions, what am I supposed to refute here?
best game of the 2010s
Its fun
Deus Ex: HR is good game. Obviously it doesn't live up to the original and ends up retreading similar stuff and borrowing from it but I don't see how you could think this game is bad honestly.
HR is one of the best games I've ever played and I am eternally angry that MD was such a disaster
MD is better than HR
you're simply letting your Zig Forums brain get in the way of the experience
It's literally one third of a proper game
Mechanically it's improved but it's baiting a sequel that never came
WHO DO I BELIEVE
>Muh Zig Forums
MD is pretty good but doesn't match up to HR. Play both but don't go into MD thinking it's as good as HR
Both are true. MD is better in some aspects but with weaker writing and a direly truncated story, it's half-finished.
nuh uh
OP status:

I find it unbelievably easy even on the hardest difficulty. basically all the weapons make you unstoppable once they are fully modded. yes even saving malik is a fucking breeze with an explosive revolver/modded shotgun/p.e.p.s. once you realize you need to prioritize heavys, then assault rifles, then snipers. don't get me started on stealth perks.
Oh look, it's the "you actually don't have good taste" guy....right on time.
It cant be bad if it triggered your dumb ass
youtu.be
lol i was listening to this while watching that webm. fits.
Here you are, OP.
He is.
Agree on this one. OG Deus Ex is still the best, but HR sure is worth a playthrough or two.
It has aged extremely bad in prophetic/predictive value compared to Deus Ex. For example, the whole Picus thing and lack of social media instantly makes the player feel that the game is alien and not applicable to our universe. Deus Ex on the other hand does not have these things.
kys. hr and md are both good
Wait, you think the part about news media being used to manipulate public opinion isn't relevant to today?
Deus Ex 1 and Invisible War
>examines how technology can change the political and social landscape and even the nature of humanity itself, culminating with JC merging with Helios to create a new, enlightened transhumanist form of government
Human Revolution/Mankind Divided
>DUDE WHAT IF PEOPLE HAD CYBERNETIC LIMBS AND PEOPLE WERE RACIST AGAINST THEM BECAUSE THEY"RE AFRAID THEY WILL STEAL THEIR JOB CARRYING BEER KEGS
No.
I can't
The premise of cybernetics invoking new evolutionary pressures on humans and human societies is interesting, you brainlet. MD and HR having garbage storytelling has no bearing on the fact.
It frustrates me how both journalists and fans and even Zig Forums don't see this. The new DX games have completely lost the philosophical underpinnings of the series, yet everybody pretends otherwise.
user, if you want to discuss the series there's no need to bait this hard. Most here enjoy talking about HR/IW/MD as much as DX
I don't know if that means you've watched too little of the news or too much of it
>human revolution lacking social media means it's bad for prophetic value
>the original deus ex has no social media either but this is fine
what
I fucking hate that game so much, i finish every game i play and this one along with Far Cry 3 have been the hardest because of how much i hated them. I hope the original DE is better, haven't play that yet.
>The premise of cybernetics invoking new evolutionary pressures on humans and human societies is interesting, you brainlet.
Learn how to read, brainlet. I'm saying the first 2 DX games explored that concept. The new DX games don't, or at least not on a meaningful level.
IW was not an examination of that, but a conclusion on everything that could go wrong with it, going wrong.
>the original deus ex has no social media
Why are you lying? One of the major parts of DX1's story is about the government creating the Daedalus AI to monitor all communication, including social media.
You've literally made up the "including social media" part though, Daedalus was created to monitor all internet traffic, social media is never mentioned with regards to that or referred to even in passing in any of the other dialogue in the entire game.
>zoomers who love HR expose themselves as not having player the original DX
Why am I not surprised
never played it but i love the trailer and watched it a lot of times
youtube.com
It is impossible to tell whether you're criticizing the premise of the story or the story itself, moron. Type better.
The original game is laughably bad in every aspect. What's worse cringey, rightwing neckbeards quote it all the time and think it's profound.
>social media is never mentioned
The game literally talks about fucking MEMES
literally the same game
I'm 30. Show me where social media is mentioned in *any* dialogue or text in Deus Ex.
Inb4 some shit about internet traffic or forums or something, in which case that guy's "#chan" hat in HR is a mention of social media
Yeah, and literally several words after it says "meme war" it says this is taking place in emails and pamphlets. Again, you cannot show me where the game mentions social media because it doesn't. There is nothing wrong with this, the game was made in 2001 and MySpace wasn't even a thing at that point, but you are literally lying to yourself and others here.
Yeah, in the original sense of the word. Internet memes didn't even exist yet in 2000.
believe it or not this was accepted on Zig Forums
people were angry at reddit for "stealing" it
The word "meme" with regards to internet memes sprang up on Zig Forums around 2005, when you were probably still under 10 years old. That passage is referring to the original use of "meme" as coined by Richard Dawkins in the 1970s. You're welcome for the history lesson.
Picus is something that's not going to happen in our world since the old media is crumbling fast to give way for social media. That's why HR alienates the player from the possibility that it could happen in our timeline too, which is an incredibly powerful aspect in Deus Ex.
I think I preferred it when 'meme' didn't mean 'funny picture'
forever alone is based again you nincompoop
Even back in 2005/2006 on this site there was a distinction between an image macro - i.e. an image with text superimposed onto it, and a meme, which is the underlying rule governing the joke, which stays consistent between images. People who got the two confused were mocked as newfags.
Now I've got a guy telling me I've never completed Deus Ex because I don't accept a propaganda campaign conducted using physical pamphlets as a type of social media. War never changes.
