>sells it self as a resource management/ survival game
>its actually a very slow tower defense game
fuck this shit
what a scam
>sells it self as a resource management/ survival game
>its actually a very slow tower defense game
fuck this shit
what a scam
you just fucking broke rimworld for me
>m-mods are going to fix it in the future
but unironically
Just about every resource management/survival game with enemies turns into a glorified tower defense game eventually if it involves setting up a base
You're thinking of Rise to Ruins
With that logic, any game can be considered a tower defense
>any FPS
you move the base (you) around and the enemies can shoot
>any RTS
my base vs your base
>any Grand Strategy
Grand Tower Defense
This game is a race against the clock.
It's only a matter of time until a raid becomes too strong for you to handle. Unless you fill it to the brim with mods and difficulty tweaks
Requires autism to enjoy.
Why tf is this game 78 dollars with royalty stop trying to gouge me you canadian fuck I don't WANT to pirate this shit because getting mods is annoying buts its not a 80 dollar game retard
cant be scammed if you pirate it
Getting mods on pirated version is piss easy smothbrain
Shut up and buy my book.
Just remove raids
What's the royalty dlc like? I see people saying in the comments its overpriced for the content but its ongoing development and tools that can be used for mods might make it worthwhile anyway/eventually.
Just play Dwarf Fortress. It's free and a better game on literally every aspect.
oh yeah well dark souls is a puzzle game in 3d but the puzzle is the way to defeat enemies.
fuck you
it's a shitty magic mod plus a dumbed down DF royalty system, topped off with a retarded bio coded weapon/armor system that means you can't use the gear that the new overpowered faction uses, the mechanoid clusters are the only good thing about it
DF noble system*, not royalty system
It's also a bit of an eyesore.
The style worked for prison architect, becuase it was supposed to give off a drab, impersonal air of praticality and conformity.
But for Rimworld it's just depressing.
There's ample time.
The time has very little effect on the raid strength multiplier, you're much more likely to get fucked by the randy multiplier than the timer one.
Life is a tower defense game
>a dumbed down DF royalty system
wouldn't say it's dumbed down, rather they're equal in terms of presentation
DF's noble system isn't all that great...
Actually it's a twisted power fantasy game
Similar to The Sims
Raid difficulty is decided by your richness, not by time
been trying to get into this game whats the best food setup ?
That thing about rabid animals attacking villagers is extremely irritating, it forces you to micromanage something stupid and it happens all the time.
I love Rimworld
Too many people seem to misunderstand it
It's not about minmaxing, or winning at all costs, it's about the stories you create along the way
These are both the only valid ways to play this game.
Either you're someone who is into autistic min-maxxing and creating the most efficient and secure base in existence, or you only care about fluff and autistically roleplay with your pawns just as you would with a dollhouse and create artificial tension/ drama between your characters.
It's great if you fit into one of the two categories, not so much if you fall inbetween or outside.
I actually play it as rpg game
I created one single OP pawn to self insert and only use direct control on that one
usually a shut in vampire lesbian with magic that has every stats but social at 20
slow tower defense?
i just nuked all other colonies off my world.
Underground Farming is the absolute most reliable, though quite expensive
Regular farming is fine, just be sure to have a big freezer to store stuff incase of extreme weather or blight
Animal raising is worthwhile, just get lots of cattle and feed them cheap hay, then butcher a couple when you need food
But the absolute best, cheapest, most reliable and useful food source is of course cannibalism
How do people play this game without Stack XXL and RimFridge?
I hate creating huge warehouses and have my pawns move into seperate rooms just to get their food.
Is Rimjob world any good?
fuck you're right
depends on the biome.
i once made Dune and i had to dig into a mountain and build a 20 solar panels to operate a hydroponics for simple meals, had to trade literally everything for meat cause there were absolutely no animals.
in most other biomes you just plant everything outside and harvest what you can. food is really never an issue.
it's good, even has an animation mod, but don't expect anything that fap-worthy
It gets too annoying imo
I usually just end up turning it off, because all my colonists keep raping each other instead of actually being productive
I've always just hunted with 2 to 3 10x10 farms each with different crops so the harvesting is naturally staggered. Fed a 12 person colony like this with no problems.
