It does not. It explicitly shows AC to be the future. Nobody thought the Midgard section of the original game needed scenes from Advent Children in it, but that's what we got.

Yes, now there is a new timeline thanks to time travelling ghosts, but Remake acknowledging Advent Children happened means that the Remake is a follow up to it. They expect you to have seen Advent Children before playing Remake despite it being set in the opening Midgar section.
