Lineage 2 was better mmorpg at every aspect
>pvp that actually matters for basically every other aspect of a game
>dying was actually painful at higher level instead of being just an annoyance
>getting high-tier weapons was almost as hard as thunderfury

>bosses that are actually massive server-wide events
Too bad majority of people went into casual wow, so ncsoft had to resort to not ban botting which killed the game by not being able to compete wirh later wow's content

MMOs are inherently flawed because of the latency and sync design challenges... all MMO gameplay is basically designed to try to hide this as much as possible and it leads to janky gameplay that people put up with because muh epic raidz and muh guildmembers.

I honestly think a turn-based MMO would be more fun, maybe even an SRPG. At least there wouldn't be any delusions of the quality of the gameplay.

Rose tinted glasses. I played it, it was good, but compared to WoW it's a disaster. Grind. Terrible graphics, terrible admins. Grind. Bugs everywhere. Forgettable and irrelevant story and lore. Grind. Extremely lame end-game (try to deny this one, go on lmao). Did I mention grind? One good thing about Lineage 2 was the community, it was comfy for a while. But come on you're comparing it to fucking WoW. There's a reason why WoW's subs were in millions and L2 were in thousands

It had actual expansions, even if you reached end game too soon you could be confident that Blizzard was going to expand the game at some point, which means new content

No, it's grind and it's terrible game design. We all suffered through it but that doesn't make it any better

I've only played Nu-Eve as a free2play/alpha in 2017 and recently. It can be comfy when you just sit back and wait skills to train which means you can go offline or do something like afk mining in a belt for isk while alt-tabbing to watch videos or do something else until the asteroid is depleted to switch to another, you can also grind with combat and killing NPCs since it's what alpha accounts are mostly oriented having more options and skill available than being a miner. You don't even have to get omega/premium to enjoy it because you can play it however you want, you can progress in what could take forever in just a few weeks by joining corps and being sociable or you can just solo mine and explore. PVP too but it's best to have an income earner that can support the ship losses but it's best to just roll with a corp/guild or something than solo. "progression" in eve is subjective to what one wants out of the game same with setbacks and losses or even gains.

I played Classic when MC was current content
I got BiS, farmed AV to exalted and like A high title, then I had absolutely nothing to do got bored and dropped it.
Might pick it up for AQ just to experience it, but that's about it. The game unlike current skinner's box has an end you can reach.

for mining you can just train and equip drones on your venture to automatically defend you from npcs/pirates that spawn in

other players can attack you but it's pointless when concord/the police will blow them up for doing it and they'll need a kitted ship to bring you down which means more isk/money loss for them, in high sec ofc, low sec anything goes if you're willing standing loss which means you can't enter high sec without police or other players taking shots at you for whatever reason
