Why Morrowind is bad

Morrowind writing is terrible.
The way the writing is presented to you use even worse.
Most NPC dialogue is generic, shared with other NPCs, and has no personality.
The combat is bad. And before you drones reply with "hehe how are you having trouble with it it's so easy?? lol so bad!!", that's the point. At the beginning you will miss a lot of your hits which feels unsatisfying. After a while you will stop missing. But you know what doesn't change? All this time you're just holding down M1 in front of enemies until they fall over. There is no depth, no strategy, nothing. You hold down the attack button and MAYBE drink potions as needed, which is done through a menu and is instant. The original Witcher had better combat, and NOBODY goes around parading how good that was, the best you'll hear about it was that it was serviceable.
95% of the quests are either fetch quests, "kill that guy", "kill those" or "collect 10 bear asses"
the 5% """interesting""" quests aren't much better. they have some minimal semblence of a a story and sometimes offer you a binary choice, where the outcome really doesn't matter of change anything either way.
Morrowind doesn't even have a dedicated level designer, that's right not one, for the various* dungeons and caves, and it shows.
The game is full of unfixed bugs and exploits, you're practically tripping over them. Almost literally, try jumping while going upstairs. The alchemy system alone would have been inexcusable in any other game.

There are basic things games have long figured out that morrowind fails to grasp. Like the default movement speed being painfully slow. (And no, the running isn't the "default" since it drains your stamina). If you want to move anywhere on foot, you are practically forced to sprint, and then wait at your destination (of just in front of it if you suspect a combat encounter) for about an IRL minute (not exaggerating, i timed it). There are more issues, like the assassination attempts, the nonexistent AI, the lifeless world and so on, but this should be enough to convince any sane (nostalgia is a form of mental illness) individual that morrowind is at best in the lower tiers of mediocrity.
*with the exception of one dungeon required for completing the main questline, they're all made from pre-existing rooms and only feature generic enemies, thus they're all pretty much interchangable with the possible exception of what loot they contain. "various" is a stretch, they're unique in he same way a shuffled deck of cards is. Pic related, your median Morrowind dungeon.
PS. Saying there's potentially interesting lore isn't an argument for why a GAME is good, since reading the lore on a wiki would be a better experience, treating it like a sourcebook. This is using the same principle as with movie games, if a game's only positive quality is the cutscenes, you'd watch them on YouTube.

Morrowind cultists don't care about this they care about feelings of elitism.

I like morrowind, I think it is swell, if you do not like, you should burn in hell, morrowind moreohwind it's so neat, falalalala better than skyrim and oblivion is the worst one

He didn’t install the bug fix mod lol. This is the dumbass opinion I’m suppose to shit post to?

Abandon thread.

>mods fix it
not an excuse.
and bugs are only one of his many complaints, unless you think mods also fix the writing for example.

are painfully unfunny memes and fallacies the only methods of communication morrowindfags are capable of?

>heh, he called me out on not addressing any of his points and posting an unfunny reddit meme
>better double down by posting the exact same kind of unfunny reddit meme with the exact same punchline as the last time
god forbid you ever reflect on your actions

>points

user what points exactly are we supposed to address? Your fedora tipping blogpost that sounds more like personal gripe against Morrowind and its fans rather than video game critique?

What's with the anti-Morrowind threads recently? I mean I don't particularily like the game, but I don't keep crying about it in a Senegalese fishing forum either.

funny how morrowindfags are usually the ones that call you a shitter for not enjoying the "lifeless walls of text" style of delivery but you're incapable of reading two posts with less than 4000 characters total.

ITT: a zoomer screeches. AKA: Saturday.

it seems like 1 or 2 autists. the same thread has been made daily for at least a couple weeks in a row now, and the posting style and arguments of the person/people posting whining about morrowind are very recognizable

What is actually funny is how people who dislike Morrowind are the ones who constantly make Morrowind threads and can't stop talking about Morrowind. Defining yourself by what you dislike is pretty pathetic.

>pretending this is the only issue morrowind has
yes having a "miss" like this is both unsatisfying and takes the player out of the experience and so this makes the game worse as a result. missing isn't even the worst thing about morrowind combat and combat isn't be worst thing about morrowind in general, but it's still bad. refer to the OP for more information.
why do people hate movie games? or microtransactions? If this kind of circlejerk grows and developers actually listen to it in some capacity, then videogames will be made worse as a result. morrowind makes me angry because you will see morrowind circlejerk threads all the time claiming it's the pinnacle of RPG design and something that developers should recreate in modern times, a "good old days, this is what games used to be about".

Was Morrowind the last good game Bethesda made?

>NOOOOOOOOOO you can't just make a thread about a game you don't like

youre rite, ill promptly cease being a morrowind fag

see genuinely curious

Someone got filtered and their asses kicked and now they do this. Pray hope he never tries out any other games and soon we'll have daily anti-planescape anti-vampire bloodlines anti-everything threads.

Maybe people don't care what you say and they will keep enjoying Morrowind and be happy.

morrowwind is gay. I tried to play and I rolled a mage character cause I like magic. One of the npcs in nyaaneed or whatever the fuck its called tells me that I can kill guys in a cave near the stilt riders. So I go to the cave and some fag attacks me I hit him with like 50 fire balls before he actually dies. So I save the game and continue forward. I find a little jail type deal and unlock the door and some fag appears behind me and one hits me. Now every time I load my game this piss fag baby mage idiot is behind me and one hits me before I can "run" away. Why do people say this game is fun????? It isn't even playable!!!!

>tfw I bought the CE of Oblivion day one because I liked Morrowind so much
fuck me

>50 fire balls before he actually dies.
Because he's a dunmer, kek.

real nice essay buddy, but I still love and adore morrowind

Lmfao Morrowind is so easy. Literallu git gud holy shit

He he! Ha ho!
To the workshop he will go!
My Uncle's candy is so sweet!
It's such a yummy winter's treat!
When the sugar is warmed by the pale hearth light
The happiness spreads throughout the night!
He he! Ha ho!
To the workshop he will go!
Uncle Sweetshare is coming near
To spread his candy and his cheer!
It's better than trinkets, games or toys
So say all the little girls and boys!
He he! Ha ho!
To the workshop he will go!
Candy, candy -- he makes so much!
Uncle Sweetshare has a magic touch!
So it's back to the workshop in the snow!
With lovely lanterns all aglow!
He he! Ha ho! He he he ha ha ho!

>filtered
see None of the games you mentioned have the MMO-tier quest design and so even unfinished jank like bloodlines (a game everyone who likes agrees is enjoyable DESPITE the combat and bugs) can still be appreciated and enjoyed as an RPG.
To place morrowind alongside the classics is a disgrace.
>lalalala I don't hear you lalalalala
nostalgia is a form of brain damage
>The only possible way to not enjoy a combat system is to be bad at it even though you explicitly state otherwise
fallacies? coming from morrowindfags? can't be! see

I didn't post a meme

so a fallacy then.

Yeah, you can look it up in the archive. It's pretty sad.

>retard got filtered because he spammed fireballs against a dunmer
kek, retard
