Have you ever bought a video game art book?
Have you ever bought a video game art book?
Yes
Post them, faggot
Yes, I have.
I LOVE MEI
Yep
A few of them.
Nice.
Bought this one recently
Would you recommend it to someone who hasn't played the game, but is very interested in the aesthetic?
being an art fag, yes. ive bought tons. mostly for references and ideas
>tfw the one I've been eyeballing was finally restocked
Does this count? zachtronics.com
I do have the physical book, if you were wondering.
Proud owner of this big fucker
I bought the FF9 art book with FF9 so I could beat my teenage dick to Freya.
EB games gave a 20% discount on art books/strategy guides if you bought them with new games.
Absolutely, I haven’t played it either but definitely going to. The quality of it is very high it’s divided by few chapters: locations characters unused design etc and everything gives you all that great atmosphere.
Though this is my only one cause I’m not collecting so I don’t have any reference desu. Also mega cheap like 40$
>bojack horseman artbook
the fuck? lol
>TLoU
>Assassin's Creed
>Watchdogs
>AAA games aplenty
Wow user, you really love generic dime-a-dozen concept art don't you? The more bland the better right?
>steven universe artbook
are the models off and
disproportionate in the book too?
To be fair a lot of concept artists are incredibly talented people who get paid to come up with striking and vivid ideas that later get focus tested into bland products that are designed not to challenge the status-quo in any meaningful way. Doesnt mean the concept art isn't impressive.
This is so gorgeous it makes me wish I played Metal Gear
You guys know any horror games art books? Like silent hills, REs
would buy the shit out of them.
Its actually great. Early Bojack pitches and concept art had fantastic surrealist art direction that was unfortunately lost in the final product
post peridot pictures from the steven universe book
Yeah. I've got hyrule historia sitting around somewhere, the two other books are just disney art books. By far the best of what I have is the Cuphead artbook for pretty obvious reasons.
No need to throw shade. I just like art. In particular, TLOU and Blackflag have a lot of greenery which is something I really love.
Only when multiple artist renditions are placed right next to each other. Sugars art style I still find very appealing and almost rustic which clashes with the fantastical science fiction in an interesting way.
Pretty shit tastes
My dick gets hard for dust covers and thick as fuck books. Unironically imagine the smell and feel the pages sift between your fingers, unf.
I have a few, but most of them are Falcom art books.
I also didn't back the Muv-Luv kickstarter, so I had to print the codex myself since I didn't want to pay $150+ for scalpers on ebay just to get one.
Yes
I have art books of:
Bloodborne
Hyrul historia
Hyrul compendium
Creating a champion
XBC:DE
XBC2
Sekiro
You realize that the concepts and such in the book aren't the actual game, right?
At least the writing and acting are good.
This also is some pretty weak sauce
Isn't Hyrule Historia more like a character encyclopedia?
Umf*
Silent Hill has apparently never had a physical art book
There are several for Resident Evil, like these: youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
I'm working on it. Only been collecting for about 6 months
Resident Evil has a few but imo they are all either based on games that you wouldn't want an art book for, or otherwise really unsatisfying.
Yeah it has some art but isn’t truly a concept art book, my mistake
I got FFXI's, WoW, TBC, WotLK, and FFXI, all from when I was growing up. I have FF: Spirits Within art book too, if that counts.
First half is more of an artbook about Skyward Sword, the other half is the encyclopedia
Pretty based book collection desu.
thank you
Not a game obviously, but check out Junji It's Twisted Visions
>Are my relationship Christopher nolan movies? Because while they feature women they aren't really about them
Yeah
Boring looking games have boring concept arts you know
I doubt there's much creativity in the works behind ass creed
There are better ways to see well painted greenery than video games artbooks
Junji Ito's***
Ok I'll give you that. Much better taste than the walking simulator collector though
That's so far from the truth. Boring looking games have just as much potential to have amazing art books as any other game. Especially if it had an interesting development process
That collection is at LEAST a B+ are you fucking kidding?
>HL2
>DBZ Anniversary art book
>The Clone Wars
Those are some rare finds
That image you posted isn't really changing my mind you know
>I doubt there's much creativity in the works behind ass creed
You sound like a lot of fun user. What artbooks do you like?
This show slaps
Peak "I only like what Zig Forums likes"
Nobody gives a fuck about some individual line. The shows writing is brilliant
Yeah but the other stuff is kinda meh
Anyho he said he just started so I'm giving more points
