Yes.

As an action game?
It was OK.
Most of the bossfights weren't very good, and platforming required no critical thinking, and it made staying airborne way too easy, but at its core the combat versus basic enemies is very obviously Devil May Cry combat.
As an installment in a series?
Awful.
Throwing away beloved characters, a rebooted MC which was a shallow mishmash of the classic wisecracker and the emo druggie they initially wanted, PR shitting on people who liked the original series, shooting for 30fps on launch consoles despite being a fast-paced action game in a series with a history of 60fps console performance, and dumbed down combat.

1 > 5 > 3 > DmC > 4 > 2

No. All of the ire was about dropping the established canon when DMC4 was the bestselling DMC to that point.

It wasn't that bad, in fact I would argue the biggest problem with DmC (outside of the admittedly fucking awesome environments at points) is that its quite boring.

People used to joke about the IM YOUR PROM DATE YOUR UGLY SACK OF SHIT scene a lot, but that's at the very least entertaining. The main problem with DmC I would argue is how fucking kind of meh a lot of it is, I think the first mission in DmC against the hunter is amazing, but after that it sadly settles into this kind of boring lull, with some occasion high points like the Bob Barbas fight.

I sort of wish we could get to see the super edgy version of DmC from the 2010 trailer.

better than god of war 2018

Gameplay is kinda average, but it would be a decent standalone IP if its not associated with DMC franchise.

The combat was fine, the writing was meh at best.
The characters lost their charm, especially the main one.

Where 3rd and 4th game were great or amazing, this one was merely alright imo.

ok britbong

Yes.

Shit gameplay did that not live up to the expectations the devs set (aka on par with DMC3/4)
Wubstep "music"
Such a mess of a "Shakespearean" story had shit like back and forth "fuck you's", an abortion "joke", etc...
and a PR campaign that did nothing but insult the target audience

DmC was such a bad reboot that it got rebooted by DMC5

I would really have loved GoW if it was a movie and not a drawn-out game with boring as fuck combat.

user it was so bad tameem shaved his head and changed his name

No, I don't believe so. The worst thing about it was the fact that it was a complete reboot. The release of DMC5 rendered DmC inconsequential enough to not leave me completely disgusted by it. I can see that there is some good aspects to it, I think some of the environments are pretty cool, the weapon switch thing is a neat idea. I mean, It's definitely not the worst in the series, it's just ok. I see it as a fun alternative universe thing.

It's a 5>3>1>4>=DmC>>>>>>>>>>>>I put 4 over DmC because it has a better combat system and it introduced Nero, but I wouldn't be mad if anyone preferred an actual finished game over it.
DmC also had some influence on Ludo May Cry 5, so that is another plus for me.

When I was younger and knew nothing about DMC, I hated slashers. My friend persuaded me to play it and I loved it, it was fun, level design and combat were cool.
Now, the dmc5 was released, and I find the characters and the whole ''squad'' cringy, as well as the who virgil splitting and cringy demons thing. Bob the tv guy and fetus were goat boss fights, this new game is boring and overrated, and the producer is a cunt for making a new dmc game instead of dragon's dogma 2

Would be a decent 7/10, but the shitty boss fights bring it down to an above-average 6/10.
Vergin's combat is among the best in the series, too bad everything else about the DLC was godawful, 5/10.

DMC5 was so good it made DmC better in retrospect

Leave Itsuno alone.
Ninja Theory is still making games, maybe you should try some more of them.

Fuck you

FUCK YOU

DMC3 was basically a reboot. DMC4 threw away DMC1/2 Dante for DMC3 Dante because Itsuno was afraid to do something different, then added pre-Donte in the form of Nero.

Not saying DmC was any good as a DMC game, but the mainline games fuck with characters and story every time a new one comes out. The last one pulled some retarded KH shit and now Vergil is alive and everyone has DBZ powers.

>The last one pulled some retarded KH shit and now Vergil is alive
I don't blame them for that. Having the main antagonist just be some random demon king makes the story a million times less interesting.

>Ninja Theory
MGR was cringy but fun, I liked it for the memes, and the gameplay was more fun than dmc 5. My problem with dmc 5 is that I am not a series oldfag so I can't take these retarded edgelords seriously and they make me cringe

If you can't enjoy 14 year old psssh nottin personell edgelord humour like DMC, I feel kinda sorry for you. I get it though.

Capcom made every game from DMC to DMC5, Ninja Theory only made DmC. I'm saying you might like their other games

>I can't take them seriously
>Thinking you're supposed to take them seriously
I doubt you've played DmC, DMC, or MGR for that matter

>MRG
Edgy and cringy but cool
>DMC
Edgy and silly but then you have a funny succubus, tv host kino boss fight and a bunch of cool locations
>DMC 5
Some retarded characters, bad villains, forced cringy emo raven basedboy, some girls in a van and overall not fun for me.
You are free to like it, it didn't appeal to me, I am fine with cringy humor and not taking yourself too seriously. It's just that this game never clicked for me, same as GOW remake (Although I think GOW's case was terrible combat and camera)

Absolutely.

>14 year old psssh nottin personell edgelord humour like DMC
pardon? this applies more to the reboot than the main games.

Ya a action game ya it was good it was a better action game then Nu-GOW. We hate it because it isn't dante

Definitive edition is decent

El Donte...

Attached: Donte.jpg (1415x791, 253.04K)

Reboot turned it up to 11 but Nero is basically brooding emo boy who wants to prove himself so his school bully will stop taking his lunch money. Dante is what every kid like that wants to be. And V reads fucking edgy poetry and has tattoos and a cane. And I love every second of it.

>Dante is what every kid like that wants to be
I wish I was Dante bros...

yes

so do i, but none of that really fits into the "edgy" category. the closest thing you have that is edgy is vergil, and that was only really in 3 with his whole >teleports behind you cutting you 3000 times before you even notice shtick. dmc is very corny and silly and all the things you listed are being toyed with a lot, but they aren't really edgy.
