Any good argument against piracy? I still can't see any problem with it

Game devs are gay

I'd argue that if I found out something was downloaded 10million times but only 10,000 were sold and user reviews were high and their was praise throughout the press and masses I'd pretty much say fuck you people for stealing my time that it took to make the product from me.

The greatest games ever made would not exist

If you end up absolutely loving a game you pirated, but still never buy it, you're no better than a nigger.

always online gimmicks
gives the devs a reason to push microtransactions and DLC bullshit

>something was downloaded 10million times but only 10,000 were sold and user reviews were high
Examples?
But piracy exist and good games also exist.

Because it erases a potential sale.
>B-but I wasn't gonna buy that game anyway!
Really? Look at all the games in your pirated library. Many of which I bet you like a lot. Do you really think that if you took all those titles away and had no option to pirate games, that you wouldn't buy games legally? You'd have far fewer games and would likely still have a desire to play more. So yes, in that situation, you absolutely would buy at least some of those games. You're also not entitled to the fruits of another person's labor.

You give money to tranny and faggot and leftist and help them having a livehood.

Piracy lessens your enjoyment of games overall.

Why should I force myself to be an idiot when it comes so naturally to so many? Once you realize that a significant portion of people are pretty fucking stupid you'll never question piracy again.

>small brain: idk what's the problem with piracy
>big brain: i know why piracy is bad but i do it anyway

Basically this. If a sufficient sample of the userbase doesn't pay for the media, it can no longer continue existing and making more games like it. Thus killing potential quality games. This is a purely hypothetical scenario however. But it highlights the moral issue.

Nah.

It depends on circumstances. Obviously if you like a game and want the devs to make more of it you can't expect them to do it for free, so pirating games you like only hurts your chances of getting more games you like.

Idk of any example myself user I just gave an what if example of an event that would piss me off. Either way the reason copy right laws history wise was because of people noticed folks like Edgar Allan Poe never made any money for their work.

You parried the beam, right Zig Forums?

Well if the sun is devoured by a spacewolf, all video games will stop being made. We need to reinstate human sacrifice.

This is the only thing I can think of but if a game is good it will still sell well right?
I used to pirate when I was a poor fag but for a long time I have had so many games now that I don't have time to play them all so I will never pirate because if I don't have the time for it what's the point when I still have a huge back log of games I still have fun playing.

Honestly I only pirate to check if I'll like the game because faggots no longer give us demos. People that came up with "pre-order game to play the beta" are both ultra faggots and jews in one, I'll never buy a game that tries to sell me a fucking demo.

There is no spacewolf and arguing into absurdity isn't going to make people think anything other than you're a faggot.

>faggots no longer give us demos.
This is and always has been false.

>company releases demo
>users bypass it to play full game for free and early
Are you retarded?

It's as likely as what you're suggesting. Best take precaution for more things that will never ever happen, like you making a good post.

Pirating is dependent on other people not pirating

>Idk of any example myself user I just gave an what if example of an event that would piss me off
I do agree, tho. That's why I paid for Shovel Knight or Terraria in first place. Fortunately, it sold well.
I can think of Hotel Dusk/Last Window. But I only play them after Cing fall for bankrupcy, so buy it was meaningless. That said, I buy them second hand anyway.

There's none because selling digital goods is fundamentally flawed.
Add that pirated games actually offer a better service because you don't need accounts, launchers and DRM bullshit, ironically the only way to own said digital goods

How often does that actually happen you moron?

I'd rather not risk getting viruses, thanks.

If you genuinely want to support something then pirating it doesn't help. If you don't care then its whatever

Name five games in the recent 2 years that gave us a FREE demo. Only example I can think of is Nioh 2.
>bypass a demo to play full game
Demos are supposed to be a snippet taken out of a game, some games even changed the content of the demos themselves.
I'm thinking that you're the retard here, or just a zoomer that only plays online games.

The less evil company out there. How does he does it?

Uhh...Maybe because it's a literal Federal fucking offense that can put you in jail.

Either way I will say that copyright law has been an issue for ages. Charles Dickens certainly didn't enjoy the idea of his shit being robbed for example. Granted he died and was worth millions, but again I bring up an example of Edgar Allen Poe.

Still at the least I do see copyright law being abused plenty today and do think that shit needs to be changed some. Fair use needs to be fought for more for one thing.

>Be piratechad
>Get no computer virsus thanks to experience
>Get no corona virus thanks to having free games at home

>Be buycuck
>Die in wagiecagie

Evenicle 2

In American. Shit, american law wo't even let you modify consoles. Ergo, you're not allowed to tamper with a thing you own which is exclusively for private use. What the fuck.

not really, i have discovered many great games with piracy.

There's the best answer. time to pack up thread achieved.

>brand loyalism lessens your enjoyment of games overall*

It's only bad when it's done for something like an indie game by a small studio, triple A shit's fine

>if something is the better product it'll sell better

user, welcome to economics 101, where just being out first is better then then being the best.

If no one ever buys games, no one will make big-budget games. Or they will and the games will be full of microtransactions. Your pick

If you couldn't pirate indietrash, nobody would play them except streamers who get paid to do it.

Now I may be a pirate but at least I don't charge people to watch me play games.

keep telling yourself that.

What? I've bought plenty of indie games, most people have been buying their indie games ever since Steam flooded with them.

patreon and the fact that shit like twitch even exists is proof enough that people will dump endless money into shit that they like even if they don't have to

>easiest way is not by putting antipiracy technology to work
>creates its own futile DRM storefront anyway that you couldn't play games like HL2 without

Gabe has always been a hack
