Yes, when the original released it was still under the Harvest Moon name on the west, now the remake comes out and they can't use the same name.
If you really think about it its pretty smart, because now more people are starting to ask about the name shift and learning about what happened.

Bingo. Still waiting patiently for RF5, with the switch port of 4 tiding me over till then. I tried that new switch Harvest Moon port of a gba game that people were gushing about, and it was aggressively terrible. RF4 does literally everything the SoS and HM games do, and also adds combat. SoS and HM are hopelessly outclassed and irrelevant these days.

Yeah, but there are alot I want from Harvest Moon, actually.
1- Port of all games to PC with its online funcitons back.
2- Sadly, I do think that they lost the assets. The Switch one graphics are just badly upscaled filtered graphics.
3- So, because of that I'd like a remaster of all games to PC, with HD graphics and online functionalities and QoL.
4- Rune Factory Frontier is unfinished, it's missing one dungeon and seems untested in regards of Runeys. They should overhaul this game, it's my favorite.
Bring all the series to PC. that would have been great.

I feel bad for people that don't realize Harvest Moon is Harvest Moon in name only now. Anons have explained why in this thread, but also if you have tried the Friends of Mineral Town remake, it's really fun to play and charming.
