>emulation is illegal therefore it is bad
>just buy the games legitimately from the services the companies provide
>mother 3? does that game even exist?
why do retards fight emulation so damn much its tiring
Emulation is illegal therefore it is bad
shit like this is why doom 64 was deemed "the most obscure entry from the doom series" when actual doom fans actually talked about it, played it and even made mods with assets from it
only moralfags ignored 64 and were more likely to treat brutal doom as an official product
Ain't emulation perfectly fine as long as you buy the game? I know noone does it, but eh.
Caring about normgroid attitudes is stupid and I have no idea why this place has become obsessed with normalfag approval.
No one gives a shit if you pirate or emulate a game. Nobody.
>emulation is illegal
citation needed
emulation is not illegal
because stealing is bad dumb goy, you better PAY for those 1s and 0s and YOU BETTER NOTIFY THE GOVERNMENT WHEN YOU DO
>emulation is illegal
It's not though.
Emulation isnt fucking illegal in the USA you stupid dumb fucking faggot.
dude, have you not seen Zig Forums this past 3 years?
even fucking Zig Forumsmblr is chiller about piracy than Zig Forums
STOP STEALING
Paying for Virtual Console or whatever is the most pathetic shit on Earth. Paying for a ROM packaged with some fork of an open source emulator, most of the time with an outdated codebase, input lag, and trash video scaling. I still see retards on here BUYING Metal Slug games on Steam.
Imagine not being able to emulate and buy originals...
I have honestly never heard anyone complain about emulating before in my life
you just want something to be mad about dont you
>if you can't spend money on it you shouldn't be playing it
sounds like autism to me
do people hating on it stop you from emulating?
Why are you crying to us? Go tell that to Nintendo.
because they are consolefags who feel special because their shitty games were once available on console and they feel angry when PC masterrace is able to play those games trough emulation and free without paying a single cent
Simping but for corporations
Emulation implies playing pirated roms. It's an accesory to piracy.
> implies
I imply that you're a faggot, your mom is a whore, and your dad is a sissy. If I imply this, then it's truth.
Emulation and Emulators per se were ruled perfectly legal by a US court. Fuck off with this "imply" bullshit. Peer-to-peer protocol isn't illegal just because you imply people will use it to exchange pirated copy of stuff. The whole fucking internet isn't illegal just because it tremendously facilitate piracy.
Did your uncle play with your anus as a kid?
No he emulated it
Learn to read you fucking retard. Emulation itself is not illegal, it IS an accessory to piracy since the whole fucking point of emulators existing is to run copied roms.
Try to estimate the odds of finding a person that owns an emulator and uses it for legitimate reasons against the odds of finding a person that owns an emulator with copied roms. Tell me of a single person you know that downloaded an emulator and doesn't have a single pirated copy of some game.
Of course, i'm not saying that I am against piracy, but I have to state this because your negligible smoothbrains can't into reading comprehension.
emulation is fine as long as you emulate anything that isn't being actively printed anymore
at that point you're either being scalped, or buying chinese knockoffs.
> it IS an accessory to piracy
Please stop trolling with stupidity
no it isnt
Why are private persons, unafilliated with massive multinational corporations, get so butthurt about somebody downloading a ROM of a game THAT IS NOT BEING DISTRIBUTED IN ANY FORM ANYMORE?
Will literally never understand that
make me
so this is why vita is fucking dead? Good riddance
Why do*
Keep being a willful retard, won't change the fact that emulators or torrent clients are highly sensible and highly specific indicators of piracy.
Some form of tribalism, its why console wars are a thing. They want to make sure their company of choice succeeds. I never honestly understood it, but I grew up having different consoles since my older brother was a big gamer and bought a bunch of different shit, so I didn't have to pick and choose. I guess if you had to pick one console and that was what you're stuck with for a entire generation, you feel the need to defend it constantly.
I get wanting a company you like that made good products to succeed. I have a several studios I like a lot and hope they do well so long as they make good games, but I'm not gonna buy their games if they're bad just to make sure they stay afloat or some shit.
Emulation isn't illegal.
I am not going to buy a dead console with inflated prices (if they are unopened products) . Nor I am not going to buy a dead console that's been beaten, raped, worn off by someone else that's been rotting in the attic or basement. I also refuse to buy Remasters and I am supporting that shitty business practice unless it's a PC port of a former console exclusive. If I already paid and played same game then I have the privilige to play it in somewhere else even tough it's not legal by any means because I haven't bought PC license of it. That being said I even played games like BotW on my PC because I didn't felt I really wanted a new console for one game(Turns out to be Switch still doesn't have games anyways). It's completely illegal but I don't care. Companies should release their games to PC after every generation because of preservation of games. No console will have perfect backwards compatibity and PC will always have that (Or Windows to be precise).
Emulators are not sensitive at all, lol, people are smart enough to just say ''yea I dumped my own disk bro'' and if anyone is dumb enough to admit piracy they usually get banned off the forums
there was EVEN A COMMERCIAL, SOLD FOR MONEY, EMULATOR, that sony constantly sued (and lost, mind you, IT WAS DEEMED -LEGAL-), but kept sueing until the company couldn't keep up the costs anymore
>Ultimately Bleem! won in court and a protective order was issued to "protect David from Goliath".[1] Sony lost on all counts, including Bleem!'s use of screenshots of PlayStation games on its packaging. The court noted that Bleem!'s use of copyrighted screenshots was considered fair use and should be allowed to continue.
Emulators. Are. Legal.
>piracy kills Advance Wars, Golden Sun, the fucking DREAMCAST
>why do people not like us?
You fucking know why, you don't emulate rare games you fucking emulate GTA3 and Metroid Fusion.
I understand that but if the game isn't being distributed anymore why care? Isn't it better if someone pirates it, plays it, and continues the games legacy through discussion and such? Do fanbois really prefer if a game gets forgotten, even if the company they support does not actively profit from a game anymore?
