Same. I can't get over 100k GSP in Smash Ultimate and I've never been able to beat a Street Fighter arcade mode.
Still a fun genre, wish I could enjoy these games.

I train for hours on end in training mode, grind execution and matchups ect, and I still get bodied by my friends and randoms because I drop my combos or setup or can't react to a jump in. People who say anyone can become good are bullshitting. When you see some random streamer execute a combo you've been practicing for weeks in a game they are brand new to, that is the clue that there is little hope of becoming truly good.

when will lio be playable in melty

I don't think you're supposed to react to jump ins

just mash lol

recently played Melty Blood and holy shit the OST is fucking kino, menus transitions are really fast, movement and animations are really fluid. Sadly there aren't any players near my area

melty blood has rollback

Me too. I just jobbed to a guy who started playing the game during this last sale

You're clearly underestimating the fact that it's probably your first go around at getting gud. Meanwhile streamer xyz has probably been getting gud in other fighters so picking up execution isn't too hard for them.

I can play one day and just have an absolute blast, no matter what win or lose with any matchup.
Then the next day I eagerly get on and just have 0 fun if I so much as get hit once and by the end of the session I get so angry I nearly delete all my friends and games.
These mood swings only happen with fighting games and nothing else.

I'm just mediocre, but I'm fairly new to Melty Blood and I'll play it right now if someone else hosts the match.

>bad at fighting games
>great at masturbation
a love\Hate relationship for me, fightans are

You can practice all you fucking want offline against static opponents, but as soon as you have somebody moving or blocking your advance, everything you learn flies out the window
Play more actual matches than just hibernating in training mode

>be a mika unga bunga main
>do always the same blockstrings
>sometimes mix a throw in
>opponents figure me out 3 matches in
Any tips?

Just keep practicing and learning, it's like learning an instrument. It's hard to get the hang of, but once you get over that hurdle then all of those hard to grasp things start to feel natural.
I wanna get into Melty Blood and Soul Calibur but I've been waging a vendetta against spacies in Melee since Slippi came out

Stop doing the same blockstrings?

Which Mika are you playing so that people might give you some new material for blockstrings?

I know it's just automatic

the flat one

It's up to you to generate enough brain power, should you even have that to begin with considering your main.
If other people telling you can't convince you, then it's on you

This video should be good for picking up her general execution. How new are you to fighting games? Also, if NA have you tried checking out the Zig Forums UNI lobbies?

Just play Nrvnqsr and mash buttons, this will win you 90% of matches against low tier Melty players.

Fairly new I'd say and their lobbies are always down when I'm available. Not a problem though, since the discord community always seems active

What's the best game to play if I want to prepare for GG Strive

GBVS

is Strive really going to be THAT simplified?

As much as i shit on discord usually, the melty blood discord has pretty much always lobbies up be it Eu or Na + what said, so its pretty good to play online

I haven't played the full release of GBVS, just the beta, and I've played the beta of Strive too, and I don't see them being on the same level of simplicity personally. I'm not in a great position to make that claim having played just the betas of both, but, for what problems Strive has, it didn't feel nearly as limited to me as GBVS' beta did.

East Coast I take it then? Well at least you have some people to play with.

Fighting games are very deep, that's why you gotta invest a huge part of your spare time if you wanna hang with the good people. Skill ceiling is almost limitless.
t. guy who can play several fighting games but sucks at all of them

Can confirm, everything this user said is true
t. guy who has played almost every fighting game aside from NetherRealm garbage but burns out as soon as I start getting ''decent''

Stop playing bad characters, and start playing the only character worth playing in melty

Tfw I just don't know who to pick in Melty.
I love playing Vat and Linne in Uni. Played a lot of Johnny and Millia (mostly Johnny though) in GGXrd, Menat and Juri in SFV. Just can't wrap my head around who I actually want to play.

Same I really want to try V Sion or Seifuku but they both have dashes in their BnBs that are tough for me to do consistently.
