Ok, lets settle this once and for all. Which 3D mario is the best? Dont forget to vote and reply. strawpoll.me/20636776 Galaxy 1 didnt have Yoshi World is objectively the worst Odyssey is too easy. 64 aged like milk Sunshine was never good.
I've got more nostalgia for Galaxy than it's sequel but 2 is objectively the better game.
Leo Long
I didn't like 2 as much, even back then.
Liam Flores
when I first played galaxy fucking around in the hub world with the flight powerup was the funnest shit. 2 is fine game wise but nothing beats hubworlds. Wish more games did em
Grayson Hall
It's early but it looks like Zig Forums is actually right for once.
I always group them together in my head as the greatest mario game experience ever made. I guess that's kind of cheating but whatever.
Henry Campbell
Smh at Zoomers voting for Odyssey. Shitty bosses and way too many pointless filler moons. The first time through the game is great and almost every level is beautiful, but I'd much rather be collecting stars, where everything has substance
Jayden Stewart
Galaxy 2 was the start of Nintendo ereasing creativity from Mario. The lore is gone, the level select is a pathway and the levels are back to arrangements of blocks. Prove me wrong. Please.
Ayden Young
The game itself is amazing and nothing else matters you stupid lorefag retard.
Chase Sanchez
Lore is also a great part of a games experience
Joseph Long
>level select is a pathway doesnt matter, the levels themselves are important >levels are back to arrangements of blocks this happened in galaxy 1, then reverted to natural spaces in Odyssey
Matthew Carter
I hate to say it but I do feel like Galaxy 2 is a less cohesive and beautiful experience than 1 because of the lack of lore/hub. But Galaxy 2 is objectively better in pretty much every other way
Christopher Phillips
Both of the games are just "Gimped 3D Mario running through floating obstacle course in space." 64 beats it easily
Matthew Phillips
>the fucking whore that voted for World
Hunter Johnson
That's not even remotely true for most levels, you either didn't play the game or you're lying. 64 is excellent too and that's ok
Leo Butler
Mario has less than half of his movement which surprise surprise is one of the core fundamentals of a 3D Mario game which makes it a direct downgrade. The only thing galaxy fans have is "Muh lore!" And "Muh artstyle!"
Cooper Davis
>64 gaining ground
Cant say I blame people. Its one of my favorite games ever made. Its just handicapped by
>we dont know how cameras work in 3D space yet.
Hudson Thomas
Galaxy 2 is just a mission pack sequel with a much worse hub world. Sure, it added Yoshi, but, eh, my heart is telling me to play Galaxy 1
Michael Baker
It's not objectively better. They may have different strengths, but SMG2 destroys the progression and has none of the open areas (which was lacking in 1 too, but at least it had some)
Ian Richardson
>playing the vastly inferior, brainead unchallenging game beacause of "muh spectacle"
Are you a game journalist by any chance?
Benjamin Sanchez
64 > 3D land = 3D world > Odyssey > Galaxy 2 >= Galaxy 1 > Sunshine
Josiah Sanders
>Odyssey being voted as third worst How come Zig Forums is so based today?
galaxy voted it felt more cosy than 2 probably because of the hub world
Cameron Williams
64 is a product of the limitations of its time, the only people who like it are losers desperate to recapture their childhood.
Sunshine is functionally better than 64 but the level design is attrocious.
Galaxy would be the peak of the series if it weren't for Galaxy 2 improving on its flaws, Galaxy 2 is the perfect 3D Mario experience.
3D Land and 3D World are fine as their own thing, they are a pretty successful blend of the 2D and 3D Mario gameplay styles without sacrificing the feel of either, they only lose points because having such a small scale right after the Galaxy games makes them look less impressive.
Odyssey isn't even a 3D Mario game, 3D Mario is not and has never been a collectathon experience, yes you get a tally of stars/shines/grand stars/goalposts but the way you collect them is fundamentally different to that of moons, previously those things would be awarded one at a time for doing long courses and completing complex missions, in Odyssey you get one every few minutes for doing meager shit like ground-pounding the correct tile or hitting the dove and winning an iPod, it's brainless and completely devoid of any satisfying platforming challenge, and the soundtrack is an abject disgrace after the soundtracks of the Galaxy and 3D Land/World series'.
James Robinson
I was about to disagree with what you said about odyssey's soundtrack because jump up super star embodied so much of the early switch lifespan hype and fun, but then I realized that steam gardens is probably the only other track that left a lasting impression on me.
Anthony Hill
based galaxy 2 bro
Carson Barnes
3D World > Odyssey > Galaxy 2 > 64 > Galaxy > 3D Land > Sunshine
