Because boycotts almost never reach the masses
because there are millions of flies that will eat any type of shit
because people can't fathom the concept that if they didn't buy the game as a form of contestation, they may get a better game next time
they have to fulfill their consumer habit and the dopamine rush from spending money
because the majority of people in the world consume media without remotely trying to inform themselves on it
I literally knew people who bought sword and shield because it carried the pokemon name alone
i mean fuck man, you know the amount of people who upgrade their phone to the next version whenever it comes out when theres next to no difference in how they use it, just to show they have the latest and greatest?
They don't work for other things like movies or tv shows if they're big enough with the normie crowd who doesn't pay attention to new releases as closely as die-hard hobbyists. Just try to boycott Disney for trying too hard to become a monopoly and ruining franchises, good luck because the majority just pays to watch their movies and TV shows and doesn't care beyond that. Boycotting a niche game franchise could work though
Because most people don't know or care about whatever the controversy is that time and just buy the stuff they find attractive.

Rockstar re-enabled openIV after negative review bombing on steam
Someone deciding not to buy a game is not a boycott
Normies don't care about dexit or trannies
or maybe, just maybe, people aren't infantile enough to let minor nitpicks ruin their entire perception of the product to impress a couple losers on the internet? it's like you fucks don't even like videogames
Because Zig Forums is a VERY vocal minority
Because both games were actually good
Because gamer 'boycotts' are just childish tantrums with no substance or staying power.
have you ever played pokemon
Who is the vocal majority? Reddit? Twitter? Resetera? All 3 of these communities absolutely and universally hate the game
is that tlou 2 pic unedited? I thought the big nose was an exaggerated meme but holy shit that shnoz is huge
Because most people are retards and NPC's; dont know how to be critical with the things they buy or don't learn from the experiences they have.
Companies are also retarded, because if they made good games, not only retards would buy them (because they don't think and buy everything), but as a bonus, people who wants good games would give them money aswell.
And good games dont cost more money usually, most of the times is sorting assets in a non retarded way and having a producer in the game that isn't brainless.
It is also sharper than the original face model's.
Everyone everywhere got out-of-context spoilers, not just here
they dont waste their time with nerdy shit like that. They played tlou love it and bought the sequel when marketing told them that a sequel was coming.
What out of context? The entire fucking games cutscenes got leaked lol
whats supposed to be wrong about the top picture
Zig Forums and facebook/twitter zoomers don't make up the audience that developers are going for. millennials have money and are adults so your petty grievances mean literally nothing lol
Are you implying that tlou2 is a financial success?
That game was in development hell for 7 years, rebooted multiple times, had over 400 devs working on it all the time, marketing and sony cut and it still sold barely over four million units.
It will take several years for it to break even.
b-b-but Troy Baker told me it shouldn't matter because ND have a lot of awards under their belt.
Play Soul Silver, play Sword, and tell me again that they have the same quality and love in them.
You can even see the decline objectively, with the changes of producers and directors with the games, the death of Iwata, the changes with the mobile games, etc etc.
At this moment is just swimming countercurrent, because you have to be the center of attention and be "woke" because you have an opinion different of everyone else. Stop it.
And most people just got shitty word-of-mouth spoilers
Because only a minority boycott.
because you're trying to boycott something that's too popular and ingrained in people's lives. Boycotting Pokemon and TLOU, some of the most well received and popular games of recent is akin to boycotting Coke or Domino's Pizza
tlos2 had double the budget of dead space 3
"voting with your wallet" is a shit meme that has never worked ever
Soul Silver is a remake using the diamond/pearl engine. Nostalgia masks it's laziness
Because most of the time it's just a very loud minority that's chimping out
Pretty simple. It's just a very loud, small group of people that seem like a large group calling for boycotts which inevitably fail when the majority literally don't give a fuck about the babies screaming in the corner.
It depends on the industry. Nothing to do with video games but people voting with their wallets really fucked up Kat von D after she said she wouldn't vaccinate her baby son and her reputation will never recover from that so she sold her shares of the company to the other shareholders.
Because gaming as a hobby has been co opted by trannies, because it's honestly the easiest hobby to get into. The gaming community as a whole is constituted of literal trannies and normies, and trannies and normies are contrarians, being part of a "revolution" — that is, being contrarian to common beliefs and common sense — provides then the adrenaline rush of of belonging to a group which is — supposedly — fighting for an ideal; not being part of the "system". That's why they'll fight to defend the most absurd practices and concepts; because these concepts defy common sense.
>record success
>sold barely 4million copies (With 85% dips every single week afterwards)
>dead space 3 had to sell 5million to survive on a 250mil budget
>meanwhile tlos2 couldnt even sell 5million on a 500mil budget
>record success
Its jewish nature to lie through their teeth to save face
cause the average consumer is a fucking retard
>instant gratification
>usually hard to take people's word on games without playing it yourself
>AAA games take minimum 3 years to make now. Who knows if I'll live to see the next installment. Might as well enjoy myself.
This. The game sold well by conventional standards, but they expected it to do prime COD numbers for some reason. Fittingly, they dumped so much money into it that it probably needed twice as much as what it earned. Nevermind that it's overstocked to hell and physical retailers are already marking it doen to get rid of it.
It didn't sell "0" copies, but all the bad press definitely hurt it, and hurt it significantly.
There'll be rereleases and definitive editions pissed out next year to try and break even by exploiting a handful of idiots, but there won't be a third game and I'd be surprised if Sony ever funded another ND game.
