I just played X2 on an emulator. It's no way as good as X1

X2 is better paced than X1 because X1 has some weirdness with how it lays out it's powerups. You effectively have to go to Penguin first to get the boots and the boots are required to get every other armor piece. And the helmet is good for nothing except getting another armor piece. And the process for getting the hadoken is retarded.

X2 fixes a lot of that.

X4 is the most fucking boring after X1. The final stages are a fucking joke.

I agree the final stages are boring but I like the final boss and the rest of the game isn't weighed down by multiple armors and ride armors to collect, chips, cannon bullshit or nightmare orbs.

X4 has a lame autoscroll stage and flat as fuck stages outside of Mushroom's, Dragoon's, and the first part of Walrus. I would bring up Spider's, but his is also piss easy.

I'd honestly take flat as fuck stages over wide open caverns filled with giant enemies that just soak up bullets separated by minibosses everywhere and a gun upgrade that makes you worse.

Close but 3 is actually the worst. I would rather play 7 and get a decent laugh

I agree that X2 is overall better, but X is the original which created the concept of "more cool megaman" so it still is the more important game.

X1 is objectively superior but I enjoy playing X2 more because I hate that fucking spider from Sigma Stage 1 in X1
