Also retro RTS thread I guess.

I will never ever forget the cultist callouts, best old school shooter imo with the best super shotgun.

I know I sound like a casual but it's too fucking hard. Even on the normal difficulty I have to quit save/load every minute basically because just turning a corner means I get fucked by a bunch of hitscan enemies, and it's not like I can fucking see through walls or some shit.

terrible difficulty curve, some absolutely horseshit secrets that nobody would get without a guide

god tier weapons. Its my favorite classic FPS

i liked it better than doom. yeah it's kind of bullshit with its hitscanning enemies but they're too fun of an enemy to fight and the horror theme of the game is amazing. blood 3 or blood remake when

Really? I was playing on normal and I didn't actually think the game was that hard.
I know that Well Done is supposed to be a hot dicking, but Lightly Broiled wasn't too bad.

I had a lot of fun with my recent play through. The weapons are great and the enemies are really great. Any other games that scratch the same itch? I tried shadow warrior but it feels like dogshit in comparison.

Should I get Dusk or Amid Evil?
Don't say both.

Oh yeah, and the mini bosses were fucked for me during episode four
During Crystal Lake the Mother Spider clipped into the wall, and during the Ganglion Depths the Stone Gargoyle at the beginning fell out of the stage (I think? He fell down into the bottomless pit and never came up).

obligatory reminder to check out Death wish, it's basically an unofficial expansion for Blood

I'd say go with Dusk first, unless you're a really big fan of stuff like Herectic

Amid Evil I'd say. Extremely fun, still getting new levels, and fantastic weapons.

yes

>RTS

Oops

Dusk if you prefer Quake, Amid Evil if you prefer Hexen

Heretic is prettier and has way cooler weapons but Dusk is more consistent to an extent and has that built-in bunny-hopping thing.

>Heretic

It's really good, but I can't stand the maze levels. I love the shooting enough where the maze levels are just fucking boring for me.

did you play Deathwish

It takes getting used to. The first time I played it years ago I gave up but then came back to it and had an easier time once I adapted to the enemies. Poke in and out of rooms and get good with dynamite. Once you have the stronger guns you can just go wild.

No I did not

When playing Blood remember to fucking CHROUCH.

Why didn't you play an actual good game like Duke Nukem 3D or a fun one like Shadow Warrior OP?

>implying Duke is superior than Blood
cmon now.

I did, at least Duke
I liked Blood more than Duke, I still gotta play Shadow Warrior to complete the trinity

playing this game made me realize has simple as shit it is to put fun little secrets in levels and how 99% of other games don't do it, at best we get coy little reddit style references to irrelevant shit, it sucks

Are you really complaining about references in a Blood thread
The game that has a level named fucking Crystal Lake with Jason's mask in plain sight

Duke is a great game, but its not superior to blood.
Blood pushed the engine to a highear standard and Caleb was better than Duke in terms of personality and voice acting,

the reddit thing to do would be to reference a bucnh of relevant shit

What new levels aside the rtx showcase level?

Felt bullshit before I learned to crouch, afterwards, however, it quickly became one of my favorite FPS games. The movement is phenomenal and all of the weapons feel great, the soundtrack is good, and The Haunting is one of my favorite shooter levels ever. That being said, the enemies introduced later on really aren't that intimidating (with the exception of stone gargoyles). Hellhounds are bullshit due to their ability to hit you without actually hitting you (or I may have missed parts of their animation).

Forgot to mention that I really liked Steven Weyte's performance as Caleb.

>That being said, the enemies introduced later on really aren't that intimidating (with the exception of stone gargoyles).
If you crouch they literally cannot hurt you

recently finished this on well done, pretty fun game. i never was into pc games when i was younger, i definitely want to try out the other big build engine games.

So how should you know you have to mash space to shake off the fucking hand?
