Are we gonna stop pretending this wasn't a fantastic game, and possibly the best game of the series since 4?

Overall I liked it a lot, but there were too many scripted events (especially at the start), the boat dragged on too long, and the mines sucked.

After RE8 lauch maybe

It's the best since 4, but that wasn't hard. Also, RE2 remake stomps the shit out of this game.

Also the switch to first person was a bitch move

4 was shit, so I can agree with that.

Too many negatives to be honest. The protagonists weren't great they were outshined by the Bakers. Eveline is a terrible villain she's worse than Simmons. The mold enemies are spammed too many times throughout the game and are placed without care. There's not enough enemy variety in general. The map is too simple. It really would have benefited from more complexity like the classic Resi games. Fill the Baker estate with more floors, traps, dangerous enemies, etc. The story is so disconnected from the greater RE narrative that Capcom had to thrown in Umbrella and Chris just to remind us we are playing a Resident Evil game. I was more engaged playing 21 than I was engaged playing the campaign and that's really fucking saying something. Besides it was Revelations 2 that brough the series back to high quality not 7.

I love this game, never have i ever experienced such an amazing horror atmosphere i'm just here hoping RE8 brings this again.

2spooky4me because fps.

The protagonists are always outshined by the villains in RE, at least in the actually good games (i.e. not 6).

or you know... you create a time machine to go to the past and stay there for good.

it was good, im glad its getting a proper sequel, it felt like a tech demo so it getting a lot of attention might lead to a pretty great product

>Eveline is a terrible villain she's worse than Simmons.
Bullshit and you know it
>so disconnected from the greater RE narrative
what Narrative? The menace of B.O.W.?They did in a minor scale wich is a breath of fresh air after the shitshow that was RE6.
Everything else with the exception of the lack of enemy variety(a legit complaint)sounds like nitpicking.

In your wildest faggy dreams, this game is the savior of the franchise and just you watch as time goes on people will appreciate this more than your beloved game.

>this game is the savior of the franchise
retard, you fags are the opposite of
>new bad old good
you just NEED the newer thing to be good

>you just NEED the newer thing to be good
No no no, let me break it to you. I want a remake to be a.... a.... REMAKE! Got it? Now fuck off

Lol RE7 is just a dumbed down version of the classic Resi games but extra scary this time guys. I said this in another thread but the brain dead positive response to 7 and the RE2 Remake will kill this series.

New bad old good remember? Don't deviate from the script

I really liked it, it was pretty scary I thought, but I felt like it peaked after the old house

I won't i won't, you also have to insert either chris, jill, leon claire or that won't be a resident evil game.

Savior of the franchise my ass. Are you retarded? It's fine, but has been totally forgotten thanks to the remakes of 2 and 3. Also, in terms of sales, it barely edges out RE2 remake

It was also a complete, unabashed PT clone. And there are better PT clones than this.

Based. That's essentially what 7 is. Also, after the Old House the game becomes far more linear akin to an actual first person shooter. And retards say this is the direction the series should take.

Zoom more zoomers.Just look for the interviews during and after RE6.they are legit thinking actionshit should be the way for RE...they lauched that shitshow umbrella corps thinking it was a good idea.
RE7 was literally a wake up call for capcom to bring back the horror for the franchise.

you don't have to trust it, but you'll have to accept it. More years pass the more exposed RE2Fagmake will be to it's failures. RE7 on the other hand

whoa it's literally me

The beast, the chad, the old RE fans boogeyman Ethan Winters!

>PT clone

...what?
so every first person horror game is now a PT clone?

The boat is the shortest bit lol

The influence is pretty obvious man

It's the best in the series since the second. Maybe even since the first.

Every single fucking resident evil has it's shortcomings by the end of it but old fans just deny it like a bunch of idiots. They just need to admit "If it doesn't have chris jill leon or claire then it's not resident evil".

Went in expecting an outlast clone, got out with an authentic and great RE experience. Yep, it is the best since 4

no, please elaborate
the only similarities I notice are that they're both first person games and they're both set in a spooky house... lol

I don't need to "pretend". That game was piece of shit, and killed Resident Evil for good. It's now literal FNAF / Outlast -tier zoomer meme crap, with zero replay value.

I'm actually thinking of reinstalling it so i can experience this amazing game again.

No it's not.
You have to go through the whole thing like three different times, it got old. And it was around the time the molded started to wear out their welcome because the game threw them at you constantly.

the fuck are you talking about you shithead? this shit is not a remake, it's a shitty excuse for a reboot

Fuck man Resident Evil had a lot of replay value? Explain to me that fantasy of yours.

Its in my top 3 of the series and if you asked me on the right day I might say it's my favorite

A shame that anything after the greenhouse is rushed shit.
Joe and Chris' dlcs mitigate the quality drop of the base game a little bit,i guess.
It's more passable because it's cheaper and has more content compared to the day of release.
