>60 dollars >doesnt fix the compressed soundtrack >doesnt fix the skill inheritance >doesnt fix demifiend's AWFUL running animation that looks bad even in comparison to other animations from the game >most half assed remaster in the world, its literally just the same game with a higher resolution, with one or two textures AI enhanced >somehow they felt the game needs voice acting so westerners now have to wait 6 more months than japanese players
>most half assed remaster in the world, its literally just the same game with a higher resolution, Great. Have wanted this since the fucking Vita days. Game's already perfect, why bother?
Benjamin Green
Faggot consoomer fanboy
Joshua Ortiz
Absolutely based
John Morris
Hey, fuck you, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Will probably pirate the shit out of it anyway.
Jacob Cooper
>>doesnt fix the skill inheritance This is the only thing I wanted from the fucking port...
Goddamn Atlust are the fucking stupidest developer in history, I swear.
Thomas Myers
>doesnt fix the compressed soundtrack >doesnt fix the skill inheritance Source?
Sebastian Gomez
The least they could have done was remaster every asset in the game, to justify the price tag
The game doesnt even run properly on the switch version, the footage shown on the direct was at like 15 fps
>most half assed remaster in the world, its literally just the same game with a higher resolution, with one or two textures AI enhanced That's what a remaster is supposed to be brainlet. Good thing it's not some soulless remake. 60 dollars does seem a bit steep though.
Jayden Perry
The music in the original literally sounds like it's coming from a tin fucking can
Josiah Martinez
That's a PS4 version.
Connor Perry
>doesnt fix the compressed soundtrack good >doesnt fix the skill inheritance good >doesnt fix demifiend's AWFUL running animation that looks bad even in comparison to other animations from the game good >most half assed remaster in the world, its literally just the same game with a higher resolution, with one or two textures AI enhanced good >somehow they felt the game needs voice acting fucking terrible. what the hell was atlus thinking
Juan Rodriguez
Watch the footage shown
Aaron Adams
>doesn't ruin an already great game all it needed to do. anything else is a bonus
Noah Myers
Yes, its called a remaster, not a port Learn the difference Simply increasing the internal resolution to 1080p doesnt make it a remaster, otherwise every gamecube game would also be remastered since you cant run them at high resolutions on dolphin
Xavier Adams
explain in one paragraph or less how picking skills from every possible option like in recent persona games will actually improve nocturnes gameplay, instead of just making it so you have 0 reason to have a party bigger than three demons with a perfectly minmaxed dark might + all the buffs + healing + whatever best attacks you have to faceroll the whole game instead of having your greater stock of demons (up to 12) with different skills and abilities you swap between for different situations.
I can understand random skills being annoying in games like persona 4, where swapping was brainless and there weren't mechanics like mitamas and sacrifice fusions to help get skills onto demons without doing elaborate fusion puzzles. but nocturne doesn't have that issue and also has a much more easy to break combat system
Austin Butler
>fucking terrible. what the hell was atlus thinking Luckily you can turn it off. I don't get why they bothered with voice acting in a game so reliant on silence.
Logan Phillips
>ain't broke don't fix it Well my car tires are bald but they haven't been torn off the rim so I'll give it another few miles
Aaron Miller
its unironically not nocturne if I can actually understand what the fuck the lyrics to the songs are saying
Easton Torres
I dont understand why/how anyone would defend how skill inheritance works in nocturne. It's awful
Leo Richardson
Hope they'll port this on PC
Kevin James
Is it still a dice rolling simulator?
James Diaz
>give 60 bucks to ATLUS >give +100 bucks to a fucking reseller
The music you hear on youtube is the uncompressed version, retard, the ps2 version is much much worse
Nicholas Martinez
>some faggot spilled his coffee on the cover art and no one even noticed Atlus quality control.
Jackson Flores
>>most half assed remaster in the world, its literally just the same game with a higher resolution, with one or two textures AI enhanced Yes. It's an HD remaster, not a fucking remake. Higher quality audio would have been appreciated, but again. It's an HD remaster and it's not a fucking remaster. It's about right. It's a brushed up port and that's what it should be.
Connor Morales
Because as is I spent sometimes 30+ minutes to get the perfect Daisojou on hard mode because it was the backbone of my party for 2/3rds of the game. It wasnt hard. There was no skill, no planning. Just bullshit time wasting and rng. It's a shit system
Brody Watson
The skill inheritance at the very least could have been fixed, faggot.
Juan Perez
Atlus' approaches to remakes, remasters and updated rereleases seems to be to never actually fix the stuff that would improve the game or that fans have said they wanted.
Asher Butler
You can get optimal skill picks by retrying the fusion for 15 minutes. Removing the randomness wouldn't need to allow anything you couldn't do before, it would just remove those 15 minutes
the soundtrack is deliberately distorted to make the lyrics harder to hear. uncompressing it would make it sound different
skill inheritance is a deliberate part of the games mechanics. what would the point of mitamas be if you could super easily get dark might or pierce on every single demon. if you actually say there OXOXOXOXing until you got that perfect RNG seed of skills you are a retard. that's like saying mario should automatically give you the max score for breaking every brick in the level because otherwise you HAVE to break all the bricks to get the highest score and thats boring
demifiend runs like that because he's a stupid japanese kid who keeps shoving demon worms into his brain. same reason his punch animation looks so shitty. its to help remind you of the whole "power of a demon, body of a human" thing that is the (little) bit of character he has
this critical theory "everything before 5 years ago was actually shit and needs to be fixed" nonsense is what leads to the star wars re-releases
Liam Johnson
That's entirely your fault
David Rogers
Tell me how wasting 10 minutes resetting the fusion over and over until you have all the skills you want adds anything to the game.
Josiah Russell
Footage shows the shit audio but Demon fusion isnt shown at all
most people do not have the autism required to minmax their fusion results for even 1 demon, let alone for EVERY demon. if you did I'm sorry but you're a retard that works harder instead of smarter (by fusing in specific ways to cut down on "noise" skills, using mitamas to inject specific skills you want, or just fucking having one demon have most of the skills you want and the rest on another) by this same argument, you may as well say they should just make you max level as soon as the game starts, because technically if you waste enough of your fucking time you can grind pixies and pretas in the starting area to get that high. I'm sure at least one especially autistic human being in the world has done this, so that means its the "optimal" way to play, right? just like going OXOXOXOXO when fusing is.
You didn't address my argument. Explain how picking your skills does anything except reduce the game to dark might/fog breath/charge/level appropriate attack skills minmax demons running a train on the entire game - in this game that's 80% combat
Ian Reyes
Is the SMT/Persona fanbase the most retarded shit eating fanbase ever?
Why was the audio compressed at all on a PS2 DVD with no voice acting whatsoever? They couldn't have ran out of space.
Wyatt Parker
It's not being lazy if it's ill advised to do too much. It's meant to be the same damn game you twat. If it feels like it isn't the same game any more, then they fucked up big time. And fuck you and all the cock suckers who want this.
So many fucking games that are practically unavailable because of fags like you. Take Final Fantasy for instance. No official way whatsoever of getting the actual FF10 or FF12. Only the garbage fucking re-releases. And they're fucking garbage. Now if only they had been "lazy" then all had been good. Fuck. I wish every developer was "lazy" with their remasters.
Oliver Taylor
Look a shitty car analogy!
Wyatt Richardson
and it was only by hearing it on youtube that I could make out ONE MORE GOD REJECTED and all the other goofy death metal tier lines and it genuinely made the game a tiny bit worse for me because I always thought it was deliberate nonsense lyrics spoken by demons
Nathan Harris
FF12's remaster was fine. Not going to step into the shitheap that is FF10's remaster tho.
Jaxon Robinson
There are hundreds of tracks on the game, but yes, it's mostly due to atlus' incompetence, they could have at least made the most played tracks uncompressed
Samuel Wood
You have to be a special kind of contrarian to shit on FFXII's remaster.
Nathan Walker
Wait, I thought Nocturne was on PSN. What's the point of this no value remaster?
William Ward
Kill yourself then
Kevin Adams
Literally all they had to do was uncompress the music and add the ability to pick skills (something that would be fucking optional so your autistic ass can sit there for 20 minutes re-rolling to get what you want). Literally two things.
Do you defend Shenmue I & II as well?
Matthew Gutierrez
>technically if you waste enough of your fucking time you can grind pixies and pretas in the starting area to get that high Not him but bad comparison. Grinding consistently gives you XP and you always level up at a specific amount of it. You can reliably grind in the same area until it gets too tedious, and you still have to actually engage in the combat system which costs you HP/SP. Skill inheritance is randomised. All you do is go in and out the same menu over and over until it decides to give you the right skill you're looking for. There are no resources lost at all in the game, all it costs you is your lifespan. You don't engage with the systems on a meaningful level, unless you count repeatedly entering menus as a good representation of the fusion system.
Angel Morris
you could have emulated it for that years ago dumbass
