What?
HALO IS NOW AN RPG
Japan wins again
What rpg mechanics did they put in the game? Being an open world movie game doesn't make it an rpg. rpg implies player choice and class/build variety.
There are skill trees if you look in the demo there's a tab that says "Upgrade"
Imagine missing the mark this fucking hard
>Halo: Infinite has all the trappings of an engagement-driven live game: There's tons of missions, there's upgrade paths for your character, massive open-ended exploration set across the biggest map in Halo's history, and replayable battles that serve as setpieces for chaos. It's basically a big playground that's wrapped up in a storyline. Halo vets will recognize that Infinite's campaign resembles a mixture of Firefight and Spartan Ops.
It's a looter shooter now isn't it?
Just like Gears 5 was an rpg
two modes ive never liked, yikes. i have always been a one and done campaign player though so its not really a loss for me. i need to see the multiplayer and forge offerings before i make a decision
but what does that mean? Do we have any idea?
>Halo: Infinite has lots of hallmarks of any RPG. There's cooldowns for equipment, a mechanic that's lifted right out of an MMO. Infinite also features a huge open-ended map that's peppered with objectives. You can set waypoints and go to certain locations to get rewards. It's a lot like an Ubisoft game where you complete missions and accrue currencies to progress.
I guess?
>343i's face when
rpgs for the west is now slapping a skill tree and calling it a day
Sound like they wanted to make an halo open world but are too creatively bankrupt to concieve of an original way to do it so they just dressed it down as a far cry clone; i have a hard time categorizing fry cry as an rpg anyway.
>We want the "Game That Doesn't Suck" audience
gggggggggggg
could actually work if the amp the action up.
gggggggg
>Here's why Microsoft made the change
It starts with G and ends with acha.
Every game is an RPG-lite now. How is this news?
>343 are so creatively bankrupt they have to copy bungie again
>equipment
kjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj
ffffffffffffffffff
This is more of an rpg than any anime japanshit will ever be
>All in game micro transactions will be cosmetic
>cosmetic arbiter body and quests
OHNONONONONO
It's a rocket propelled granade?
I get the impression it just means there are more guns of each type, something like Destiny's archetypes except instead of many versions of each archetype to loot, there will just be one instance of each
also has captcha lost its fucking mind for anyone else
>343 are so creatively bankrupt
Comon, user, that's not a fair thing to say. That implies they had any creativity to begin with.
no it isn't. it's missing the "playing" and "game" parts of the acronym like all w*stern "rpg"s.
>343 is actually gonna try and copy Bungie
Ubisoft failed twice
EA failed
Come and try it
And people are just eating this shit up and loving it
someone kill me
This doesn't sound fun at all...
open world is the stupidest shit in the industry. fuck GTA 3 for dooming us to this lazy future
Where the FUCK is the passion in this industry!?
man I wanted to like this game, but I just couldn't get into it. the combat is so shit and setting is so dull.
indies
like always, japan.
I don't know where he's pulling skill trees from, but there's definitely an upgrades tab in the pause menu. There's a few things we can assume will feature in it, like shield strength, grapplehook cooldown or sprint speed (the base sprint speed seemed pathetic in the trailer, barely different from the standard movement speed). I wouldn't be surprised at all if weapons could be upgraded either, the scope on the BR looks a little off, as if it can be swapped out for something else.
its happening again
