Villain: I want to make the world a better place without suffering. Where everyone can be happy

>Villain: I want to make the world a better place without suffering. Where everyone can be happy.

>Hero: NOOOOOOOOOOOO PEOPLE HAVE TO SUFFER AND MISERABLE I WON'T LET YOU MAKE THE WORLD HAPPY

Name one when where this doesn't implies genocide

Piss off maruki im glad your girlfriend doesn't Remember you

>antagonist works hard and for many years usually to proactively bring about their plan to improve the world in their eyes]

>protagonists are just some fucking punks who decide to stop that plan either to maintain the status quo or for some petty personal reason like revenge and 99% of the time can only "win" by using brute force to kill/subdue the antagonist

Borderlands 2

dumb frog poster

You either cut the cancer out now and live a long and healthy life, or you suffer a slow and miserable death.

>villain begins explaining his motivations and plans
>mash A until battle starts

With the way death worked in FFX Seymour kind of had a point. There's no downsides and only advantages to being dead in that game it's ridiculous.

Assassins Creed. Templar’s literally just want everyone to be happy but Assassins are essentially what OPs post is about heroes

It's surprising how many heroes are just bussies whose motivations boil down to maintaining the status quo. At least some of them like batman have the decency to do some based shit like beat up poor people in a retarded bat outfit though

I mean we don't get a proper account of what it really feels like to be dead. Do they have a full sensory experience? Can they eat? etc
Also most people would probably become fiends.

>You are the "villain"
>Bunch of teenagers with attitude try to ruin your new world order

>villain is a retard marxist ideologist who's wishes are not based in reality
>villain is also OP

he was gonna use the warrior to kill everyone

>villain is literally trying to save the world from annihilation
>"heroes" with no backup plan stop him because it wouldn't save everyone

Attached: 3.png (476x502, 265.86K)

>bad guy do thing
>good guy stop him
wtf i hate video games now

>retard
retarded
>ideologist
ideologue
>who's
whose

Learn English before trying to insult someone else's intelligence. There are so many dumb ESLs on Zig Forums nowadays.

Japan has a raging boner for this trope for some reason.
It's like Utilitarianism isn't considered even slightly valid over there.

>villain is forcing everyone to bend to their will for their biased view of what a "fair and good" world is

>WTF WHY ARE YOU STOPPING ME? NOOOOO DON'T YOU SEE I'M DECIDING WHAT'S BEST FOR EVERYONE???

>Villain just wants to fuck his waifu

Ok retard

I was rooting for him ithe entire time.
Because I understand him.

>"""villain""": the rest of the world wants to eradicate me, everyone I've ever known and every place I've been because of sins my ancestors committed and i want to stop them from doing this
>"""heros""": NOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST KILL THE PEOPLE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ERADICATE US AND HAVE ALREADY COMMITTED UNSPEAKABLE ATROCITIES AGAINST US, THATS GENOCIDE!!!!!!!

He was gonna use the warrior to bring order to the planet
>inb4 "bring order means kill everyone and be a fascist!"
This is a planet where literally everyone is a sociopathic genocidal raider, and the wildlife are psychotic roided murder bots.

Literally the only thing possibly "wrong" with Handsome Jack is that he was an insecure narcissist. The game tried to paint him as the "villain" BECAUSE he wanted to bring order, and so represented "the man" as opposed to their wacky, independent, murderrapist main characters.

Fine, Borderlands is a parody joke setting, written 2nd grade retards. But then why wasn't Handsome Jack? His whole thing was the only almost serious part of the plot in the entire game, and if it did anything it just highlighted the writers' emotional failings. They ought to have called him "You can't tell me what to do, DAAAD!"

Examples?

Gurren Lagann and Promare

Might makes right

>well established good and respected character comes up with a plan to save his country from being destroyed
>new character comes out of nowhere and sabotages the plan right before it goes into effect
>because she says it might possibly have a chance of dooming people in another dimension although she has no proof
>fails miserably at executing her own plan to save the day and leaves it to the player to clean up her mess
>the game acts like she was in the right at the end of the day and the guy as in the wrong

God I fucking hate Zinnia so much. Bitch should have gotten this type of treatment in the games too.

Attached: 1556776411605.jpg (2631x1378, 1.73M)

I didn't watch Gurren Lagann past like 5 episodes and never heard of Promare. Can you give me a rundown? I'm just curious. It seems a weird trope.

the (((templars))) don't want people happy they want them mindless drones

Forcing people into a mindless state of happiness is pretty unnerving.

>villain is just asspained

Attached: ca27d5e54f3caea4306d9a42d7f20adb1ce6da2f_00.gif (256x192, 10.62K)

>villain wants everyone to be free from totalitarian state
>protagonist wants to maintain the status quo

cringe and bluepilled

The antagonists of both halves of Gurren Lagann were harming a small number of people for the greater good on a planetary and universal scale, respectively.

Persona 5

It turns out the humans were forced underground by a guy who did it to protect them from growing too advanced because then an alien race would wipe them out.
Timeskip halfway through the show after they overthrow that dude:
They do indeed grow too advanced, aliens come to destroy earth, one of the main characters who's in charge of the new government wants to save as many people as possible on a space ark, but the main characters don't like that because it doesn't save everyone, they punch government man in the face and eventually beat the aliens with pure willpower anime bs. Happy end for everyone etc.

>villain is a being beyond mortal morality
>hero: THAT'S WRONG

Attached: no-spooks-this-is-a-spook-free-zone-all-spooks-will-15997714.png (500x544, 82.13K)

Don't forget that the alien race is only wiping out species that get too uppity because the universe will literally be destroyed if too much spiral power is generated.

all you did was prove my point

Hey guys whats going on in this thread

Attached: ghost.jpg (800x450, 28.96K)

Haha, you fell into my trap! All you did was prove my point!

>the good guys are good because they're cops/military/fbi/etc

Yes that's true, my b for not mentioning it.
