Quick question, I've been a PC fat all my life and wanted to buy a console for some time now. At first it was supposed to be a PS5, but seeing how almost every single game that's announced on either Sony or Xbox console gets released on PC I thought about buying a Nintendo Switch.
Seeing how the Switch is already so old, should I invest in it or wait for a new console generation?
Quick question, I've been a PC fat all my life and wanted to buy a console for some time now...
Switch might get a Pro version next year, but thing is selling so well you could get it then sell it at full price later on
The Switch is selling like hotcakes, and they have plenty of games in the assembly line, even if they're not showing them due to the Chinese virus debacle, so don't expect any other revision anytime soon.
>wait for a new console generation
The Switch has easily 3 more years of life.
I was in your exact situation last year. I fell for the meme and bought a switch, I was very excited, bought Super Mario Odyssey and BOTW with it, loved BOTW for the first 5 hours or so and then got kinda bored.
After that, I played 30 hours of BOTW but it's really bad, I'll probably try to finish it but I don't feel like it. Also have around 7 hours in SMO, but got bored of that as well. Bought Xenoblade Chronicles 2, played 35 hours, bored of it as well.
It's really not worth it, it's currently collecting dust while I play stuff on my PC. The prices for the games are really bad for what they bring out, everything is overpriced, the joycons WILL drift and become unusable, and a new pair is fucking expensive for no reason, considering this has to be the worst controller I ever used. The sticks are bad, the dpad is bad, the buttons are bad, it really feels like a chore to use and I really don't feel like playing on it, that's why I'm putting off buying Astral Chain, because I can't imagine playing a game with decently hard inputs on such a shitty controller.
The hardware itself is garbage as well, my phone that I got for free from my provider ( an S20+ ) is way fucking stronger than the Switch. You can see that especially while playing Xenoblade chronicles 2, don't even try playing it in handheld mode, it legit runs in 360p or even worse in towns.
I made a really big mistake by buying this shitty console just for it to collect dust, I think I'll sell it after I buy and finish Bayonetta 2, maybe wait for Bayo3.
Can you play Xenoblade on a fucking phone? I didn't think so. Btw, that one game is horribly optimized for handheld mode because it started as a Wii U game and it was made by a b team while they were working on BotW. Their next releases, Torna and Xenoblade DE run a whole lot better, so you're literally cherrypicking like a fool.
to add: I thought I would love Smash, but after looking into it a lot, I see a ton of problems. I don't have anybody to play with locally, in my country especially people legit never heard of Nintendo Switch, I think it's only popular in burgerland. And after looking into it a lot, the online is the worst online ever possible in a game so there is no reason for me to buy it.
Plus, in order to properly play smash you would need to spend a crapton of money. You need to buy a pro controller(around 80$ in my country), buy Nintendo Switch Online because I never bought it, didn't have any reason to, buy a LAN adapter and ethernet cable so it's playable and nintendo couldn't bother to add it to the dock, plus the game that's also at least 60$.
i'm not cherrypicking, XB2 runs like shit and so do most multi-plats. So, considering I would NEVER EVER buy a multiplat for the switch, seeing as it's the objectively inferior option ( bad resolution and FPS compared to PC, plus you have to use the shitty joycons instead of whatver controller u want), what am I left with? The exclusives.
What exclusives even are worth playing? I saw BOTW and SMO praised to heaven and back, and I couldn't even stand to finish them. What else? Maybe bayo2 and Astral Chain, but as I said, I don't know about playing them with joycons, and I'm not spending 80$ for a PRO Controller. I bet that if all the switch exclusives were multiplat / on PC, and the notion of "console exclusive" didn't exist, people wouldn't even bother playing them.
Outside of Horizon Zero Dawn, what PS4 game came to PC?
>I played 30 hours of BOTW but it's really bad
stopped reading there. probably a sony shill.
Bayo 2, Astral Chain, Splatoon, Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario + Rabbids, the Origami King, Tropical Freeze, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade DE, 2 and Torna, Smash Bros, Dragon Quest XI S, which is still an exclusive at this point, and the upcoming SMTV, BotW2 and Pokemon Snap 2.
Death Stranding.
Are there any PS4 exclusives worth playing? There isn't anything interesting for me that comes to mind aside from WipEout Omega Collection.
You don't even own a Switch nor played any games on it
He sounds like another jaded gamer, but he's not completely wrong.
Nope, dont even have a ps4, I only owned a ps2. As I said, i was in op's position, thats why im giving him this advice. Why is Botw so good that you stopped reading when I said I got bored?
Im not jaded at all, I play like 6 hours a day, but I do it on PC. If I cant stand the switch ot doesnt mean im jadex
If you can wait I'd just wait for Switch 2 at this point
Switch is about halfway through its lifespan. That said, it's not particularly smart to buy consoles when they're brand new, anyway. Only buy hardware when it already has a variety of software you want to us. Does the Switch have games you want to play?
This is real?
God I fucking wish they'd just make a stronger version of the console already. I'm not even asking for much. At least have games that run at 30fps not dip. I played Three Houses for like 10 minutes and it was already dipping in the tutorial mission.
Dont want to make a new thread so I will ask here.
Im trying to find a JRPG that has a blonde/silver witch as female antagonist and in the end she becomes male MC's wife while having his kid. I remembered that last CG was posted here before but I forgot the name. I also tried searching the archive with "antagonist as love interest" tag but no luck. Please send help.

No. BotW is the only good Switch game and it's better on PC.
Thank you
>The Switch has easily 3 more years of life.
How? It struggled to keep up from the moment it launched.
>Xenoblade DE
Oh, you mean the Wii game that runs lower than Wii resolution?
as long as it sells power is irrelevant
>It struggled to keep up
Wut? In terms of sales or in terms of games? The Switch is destroying the competition
All of the day, bro
Bait.
In terms of power. It's only about the same power as the Wii U, which was already horrendously underpowered, and now we're heading into a new generation. Nintendo is basically two generations behind technically.
Hahaha
No
Nintendo has created the most powerful handheld ever. The first handheld that is able to play the latest AAA games
Damn, I guess you have a point.
It's a hybrid that claims to be both a homeconsole and a handheld.
> think Nintendo is still trying to compete on the same ground as its competitors
Did you fall into a coma after the game cube and miss the console wars of the 2010's?
If you:
>like handheld gaming
>planning to hacked it
Then go on.
