>Playground was practically confirmed to work on Fable 2 years ago
>It's 2020 and all we get is a minute long teaser, no gameplay, nothing more.
It's in development hell, isn't it?
Playground was practically confirmed to work on Fable 2 years ago
The Last Guardian all over again. Except I have no idea what this is. Fable 4? A remake?
Rumors say it's a sequel but with a convenient slate wiped clean.
From rumors/leaks/whatever (some people said they saw fragments of leaked videos that confirm it but i've seen none personally) turns out that some mad king used The Spire to wish that a meteor destroyed the planet, and it did, basically shattering it to pieces. It's basically like Draenor in WoW now. Whole humanity was almost destroyed and now we are in far far future where they got to medieval times again. Heroes Guild is basically on a separate land/dimension/planet that was created by the meteor and the main quest revolves about stopping it again, since it will appear one more time.
fable 2 was released over decade ago
I can't believe Fable 1 came out over 25 years ago.
>finally get an official announcement on a fable after 10 years
>just whine about no gameplay
would you rather nothing at all?
NOOOO I WANT THEM TO MAKE HORZION 5 FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>said no one
>Made by Playground’s second team
>A brand new team filled with new hires (most of which are completely new to the games industry)
>Rumors of it being an MMO-lite
It’s gonna be shit, isn’t it?
They are still building their team for the game, playground was focused on Forza, fable project must've started real Dev time a year back at most.
Listen here you little shit, we live in a pandemic, ok?
It's an interesting game for that studio to tackle. Wonder if they'll have an Aussie commentator yelling Epic Combo in combat.
we'll likely see something on august 3rd at the next event
Wasnt the backstory to Fable that something similar happened with William Black using it to wipe out the Queen of Blades and shit?
Its been a long time so might not be remembering completely correctly
Anyone else get aroused by the fairy getting killed in the trailer?
I think it's further in development but as usual they don't want to show everything until much later. All these conferences are doing the same thing, show a few games with actual gameplay and release dozens of cinematic trailers until later. We already saw Valhalla do this.
YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
Only the first game/lostchapters was good anyway.
I love Petey Mollynuts but that fucking asshole was too busy trying to come up with new ideas to finish his first idea, which was great.
They kept changing too much shit with every sequel, and every time it did nothing but make the experience worse.
>too busy trying to come up with new ideas to finish his first idea
Dude, he barely worked in the games, his "ideas" were just lies he came up with on the spot for the journos.
Sure, if he actually sat at the desk and tried to work in those ideas they would be great but he never bothered and let other guys do the real work
He was a weasel through and through
Fable was fun. It was fine, but not at all what was advertised, and the sequels were dog shit.
jez and klob said that it isn't a mmo
There is gonna be another event ?
>Castle Fairfax
>Again
>Instead of giving us Old Kingdom or Start of the Heroes Guild
Kinda disappointed
The whole idea of a Fable game is that you, the character, are essentially a clean slate, a nobody who has done nothing yet. Playing as William Black or Nostro sort of destroys that idea
Hoping for something set not long after the guild was destroyed
I love the two first Fable games but it's no secret that they are archaic by today's standards. What would they have to change to make this game successful?
First and foremost, the whole schtick of having melee, ranged and magic attached to their own face button needs to go imo. Spamming X, Y or B to win was fine in 2002 (or whenever fable came out) but not today.
2 years isn't a lot of time depending on how much engine work is involved
> Wonder if they'll have an Aussie commentator yelling Epic Combo in combat.
Holy crap I'd pay extra $5 for this
Will we have the opportunity of saving the fairy from this cruel fate?
Why are people so hooked about this game? I rarely ever heard of fable before this trailer.
Tell me about this game, is it good?
First is pretty average, 2 is better, 3 is a mess
It's never been a great series but it has a lot of charm
>pratically confirmed
Ok, but this is the first confirmation we have that they are working on the game.
First game is great, the sequels all suck.
Buy The Lost Chapters (Or the anniversary edition, but make sure its using the old settings imo)
All the other games are literally for idiot babies, which is saying something because none of the games are hard.
Don't look anything up about it. Just go in blind, pick what you think seems coolest. Your character will change and grow based on your choices. Its a really charming silly little game and you will have a lot of fun at least once.
Literally how is 2 better?
Explain yourself because its one of the most disappointing sequels I've ever played in my life, you literally cannot die. You get infinite money after a few hours, the game is fucking boring and pointless.
At least when you exploit the first game it felt fun cause you were figuring out how to do it on your own.
1 is great. Limited by today's standards but it holds up well as a comfy light Arpg.
2 is in some ways an evolution, but it's far less deep in every way besides the interactions with NPCs and real estate.
3 is TRASH. Avoid at all costs.
1>2>powergap>3
You're basing the quality of the games on exploits? 2 has more you can do and a more interesting world and a setting that isn't limited to crappy little corridors of trees. Plus shooting people with a fucking blunderbuss is far more satisfying than any of the combat in 1.
they called it a 'new beginning'. definitely a reboot
Fable 3 did have the tabletop sidequest at least, and I did like the gnomes as a sequel to the gargoyles
No, I'm basing the quality of the game on the fun quests, characters, and world.
2 is fucking boring because literally nothing ever matters and there are no stakes.
Its not an exploit in 2, you can just put the fucking controller down mid-combat, leave for 10 years, come back and your dude will still be blasting guys off with a blast of vigor and the only difference will be that you made 10 gajillion dollars from rent while you were gone.
Anniversary's hardmode actually adds some stakes to Fable, even if they're minor.
2 just felt like such an unfocused rushed mess, which is saying something when I'm praising the first Fable
