The sheer amount of hypocrisy surrounding the way this game has been treated since its announcement has gone from being a source of misery to a source of profound happiness to me.
Everyone who tried stomping down and looking down on my genre and acting as if it was okay to change the gameplay because they didn't like it anyway, only to recoiling in horror by the way everything having to do with the story and its pacing was changed, every single one of their tears makes me giddy like a schoolboy. But that's not even the really sweet part of it is that every single one of you too who defend this are going to have something you looked forward to ripped from you and twisted into shit to appeal to some other group and I hope your desire to THEN cry and whine about how it's not fair and how terrible it is turns to ash to choke your fucking throats.

turn based is fine but you are a sperg
the remake mostly preserved the materia system which was the fun part about 7's gameplay
it's problems were not about the combat

turn based jrpgs are my favorite genre. they did not take anything away from you. you did not own the creative license to dictate final fantasy vii remake, thankfully. go play remako and beacause, because you were never going to like ff7r. there is no version of square in any possible existence that would have made this a game you like.

The combat was the only good thing about this remake.
