Castlevania thread

Are we gonna see a new Castlevania with the series' resurgent popularity? Also, comfy Castlevania thread.

Bomberman is a thing still so I wouldn't rule out Castlevania.

>tfw Grimoire of Souls is shutting down in September

Feels bad man

I wonder who's the incompetent fuckup who decided to release it in Canada first when Japan's the main market for Gacha?

Castlevania's more popular than Bomberman, so I hope Konami comes to their senses and releases a new game soon.

What would you fags want out of a new Castlevania game? I want a third Sorrow game or a 1999 game.

How can the guys over at Konami be such fucking idiots?

HOW DARE YOU

EVEN FORGETTING

WHO RAISED YOU

>Make it 2.5D like Bloodstained
>It has Alucard / Ritcher / Maria / Julius / Yoko as main char
>Dracula as main villain again
Profit

Thoughts on Shanoa?

she a cute

I want Harmony of Despair 2, with more content and more depth. Possibly even drop the whole levels from previous games shtick in favor of entirely original content.

YOU STUPID DISCIPLE

She's a cute stupid disciple.

Would you want a mode balanced for single player?

What do you mean? I actually find the game very well-balanced for single player, with a very good difficulty curve leading up to decently hard encounters in the final chapters. I never actually played much of the multiplayer, so I would hope that it scales higher than single player does.

One can hope. Konami's a bunch of idiots if they don't capitalize on the Netflix series and Smash representation the way Capcom did for Megaman.

Pretty much that, yeah, the enemy scaling.

I want a Symphony of the Night or Aria of Sorrow remake.

Not to mention the success of Bloodstained.

>resurgent popularity
What? The last playable game came out in 2014.

The (shitty) Netflix, the rereleases and Smash put the series back on the map.

That was a reboot series that actually had very little to do with Castlevania. The last game in the original release cycle was released in 2010, and the last mainline, canon game was in 2008 with Order of Ecclesia.

That just reinforces my confusion. Who cares about canon Castlevania games beyond existing fans that Konami doesn't care about?

>tfw we will never know the whole story
I was expecting they would eventually add more characters until you had the complete rooster of Canon mainline heroes, and since the villain chick apparently had the same power as Lucy I hoped she would do something similar but with the bad guys

Castlevania as a property got revitalized somewhat with the Netflix series, new collections, and the attention Smash brought, all of which are influenced by the original line of games over the 2010 reboot.

Who is the character in the back? Is it that wolf guy from the 2nd n64 game?

That's Aeon from the wii fighting game.

I hope that means new games soon.

What's up with the "order" of ecclesia just being some old weirdo and two orphans he picked up off the street. Is this not basically just some dude LARPing

They released some CV collections for current consoles, maybe they'll do something at some point. I wouldn't hold out, though.

It's just ludonarrative. Just imagine the rest of the order being weaker than the main cast, being of no consequence, and being off-screen.
