Why are people crying so much about this new update? I will tell you why.
Underrail is not particularly good as a rpg. Sure it has great world building and atmosphere, but its great strength in the 5 years were the battle/skill mechanics. People loved to explore builds, min maxing until they broke the game. Because making broken builds is fun. People make videos on youtube about how to break a game apart and exploit it thoroughly. People love to watch those and love to try it out themselves.
There's no reason to use such a heavy handed balance update this far down the road. People are crying because they think the limitations will take away some of the fun from the game, that's it.
And what's even the lore explanation for this new mechanic? Why do psionics have a limit on how many spells they can use? Why is it taxing to use several schools together when they had sinergy just before? Why are enemies not under the same rules? Monster I could understand, but all psionic humans should be subject to them. This breaks apart some of the imersion too, at least for me.

6 spells, 15 int required, so much psi penalty you can't even cast a spell, this is styg's vision of pure psi
Fuck styg

For NO REASON IN PARTICULAR, how might one go about editing their skills, or is there a respec mod?

does the update affect current saves? I literally just started to replay

Not yet

Daily reminder that all styg had to do is make psionic attacks be missable and to scale temporal manipulate abilities with skill ranks.
The antipsifags had no counter to that argument.

I just want him to admit he's wrong.

please don't use my review as shitpost material.

and what get all the people on his discord to screech at him for being "bullied?" Nah.

>psiniggers STILL seething

cheat engine, click the value up and down until it finds it

Good luck with the infusion sells Styg.

its 8 spell cap with 12 int, he changed it literally a day later. penalty is 10% per school instead of 15% now
i've been dicking around with a psi generalist character post-patch and its not the worst thing in the world. those characters really did feel ridiculous compared to a non-psi build with just how fucking versatile they are. i think if it was like this from the start no one would really care. i do think you should cap out at 10 slots at 12 int, since the biggest victim of this patch are the more niche psi abilities like frost shield that just can't justify being one of your normal 8 skills.

So was psi the most broken thing in the game? Can't see any other reason you'd make such big changes so late after release

And make psionic projectile attacks scale precision with perception of course.

psi generalist tank was certainly amongst the highest tier of builds, maybe even in a tier of its own.
its main strength was just the sheer number of OPTIONS you had, when most other builds options typically consisted of
>use main weapon
>throw grenade
>perhaps a trap or two
styg wants to expand psi more, but said that he couldn't justify adding more to it when it was already so fucking powerful. i get the idea, but he REALLY should've added some of that new content alongside the nerf so that psi players aren't throwing themselves off of buildings like they are now

probably not even the most broken thing besides temporal manipulation which requires no investment

How come I'm so shit at this game? I do everything right, I abuse traps, stealth and grenades (all crafted mk3s or Magnesium atm) I use flashbangs and mines (normal and chemical) I have finished the game before and I enjoy it but this is on easy I struggle like fuck with some fights

what's your build

There should be no slots at all because its a silly mechanic that doesn't fit the lore. And to have such versatility you need to invest in 4 skills, what's the problem with that? Psionics don't have skill points left to pick up traps and throw, that's why the FOUR schools cover it all.
Just nerf it some other way.

psiniggers getting what they deserve

Chem pistols with stealth and TM, doing all crafting but focusing on mechanics and chemistry. I really don't get it, maybe I am just a born shitter

It was more that any build benefits exponentially from even just putting a minor skillpoint investment into psi. on top of that they all fucking synergize with each other lmao.

Lmao, just finished the first three quests for the JKK. Why the fuck can't I investigate what they did to Vivian like I said I would do? Why can't I just say fuck this and quit on the spot?
Fuck this shit, I'm reloading and doing Coretech.
Talk about leaving a bad fucking taste.

I haven't done chem pistols I would guess some enemies have high resistance to chem pistols, do you have enough to deal with that?

Enjoy the warehouse mission

If he's trying to use acid pistols at depot A, yeah that probably won't work, the first rule of underrail is don't be autistic, and you can clear easy with fucking throwing knives

Was there a change to continuum ripple? Something about it spreading more?

>not shooting up the whole JKK sector in revenge
the rest of core city wont mind

>every fight is decided by dice rolls instead of the player's choices

How much arena do i have to fight to get noticed by mr big corporation guy? some faggot in a robe appeared and mentioned them but nothing else has happened.

iirc everything but the last fight
there's 2 forced breaks, it's after the second break

It isn't worth the reload to do coretech, bro.
I would save it for another playthrough.

>world's best sniper (the gorilla warfare guy) miss 1 of each 20 shoots against a barn
Truly immersive.

I have acid pistols and fire pistols, I cleared Depot A using bear traps, stealth and crafted napalm nades it was easier than when I did it as full psi

>tfw started a psi hybrid build that already felt spread too thin on Hard and this update will probably fuck it.
I had melee, throwing, metathermics, temporal manipulation, as well as lockpicking and speechcraft and some mechanics.
overall felt like too little of everything early game (only level 8 or something)

thanks

No way I can just can keep working for JKK after this, bro. She was just trying to help her father after he got screwed over by JKKniggers.

also had dodge and evasion, probably where I went wrong but they did seem to help

psybrids always feel spread thin until you reach levels 15+
