timed exclusives don't mean shit to me, and the first party games...i mean there's nothing to even know, it's just cgi trailers. everwild is the worst, they have made two cgi trailers now but apparantly the game is so early in dev that they haven't even figured out what sort of gameplay it has yet.
the whole show was disappointing as fuck and it feels like none of the games shown are out for years. i bet fable doesn't release till 2025/26

I still haven't decided what to do. I have always preferred Xbox, the whole feel of it. The S and Duke controllers really blew the Dualshock away back in the day, and games ran like butter compared to their PS2 counterpart.
However, PS2 is the only place you can play Devil May Cry, Silent Hill 3, Final Fantasy X, Haunting Ground, and the phenomenal online experience, Resident Evil Outbreak. So... I had to get my ass a PS2.
360 era rolled around. PS3 is $600 with a shit ass launch lineup (except Ridge Racer 7 that shit is platinum) and it runs games worse than Xbox 360. Not even a choice.
Continued on with the Xbox One, but I definitely got XBoned by this. Missed out on so many games getting a PS4 was mandatory.
My house isn't that big. I can't keep accumulating consoles. So it would make sense to get the Xbox U, so I can just keep my games from last gen, and sell the Xbox One X console. However, we don't know what exclusives Sony will snag later, which means I might need to get a PS5 anyway. So I'll still have more fucking boxes.
One's an MMO, and the other two are multiplats. Where's exclusive Tales of Arise gameplay? Where's Senran Seven? Where's Persona 6?
Japan apparently won't ever stop supporting Sony no matter how many times they get kicked in the face.
at least most AAA weebshit like Square Enix, Capcom and Bandai Namco are porting all their stuff to Xbox. however, NIS America, Falcom, all the stuff related Ys, Neptunia, Trails, Disgaea and Persona are still going to end up on PS5.
if you want better performance at the expense of some niche series, go Xbox. if you want the opposite (at the risk of more censorship killing other series like Senran Kagura), go PS5.
PC has plenty of what releases on sony consoles, but it still doesn't have everything. also performance is on a case-by-case basis.

Getting the most conservative, stubbornly Japanese IP on an American console in Dragon Quest is pretty big, never mind they got it straight to Game Pass (Which is a bigger deal in Japan because it's straight to xcloud and now there's a version of DQ XI on mobile without compromising it further than the Switch version). Sega's pretty happy with how PSO 2 and Yakuza is doing on Xbox as well. Feels like the confidence in them in Japan is growing with xcloud and game pass and they can definitely get series like Y's, Danganronpa, Atelier and Persona in the future.
Currently? Build a sub-$400 broke nigga PC. That should run anything from Disgaea to emulated SMT and P4G.
you gotta be used to Squaresoft's quality standard from the PS1 era and then start making a few concessions here and there, also become more lenient towards fanservice, slice of life humor, tried-and-true hero saving princess formula, yaoi/yuri undertones and easier/grindy gameplay.
also a bit of japanese pop culture like knowing what tsundere and yandere means. you can get all of this as you play btw, no need to do any homework.

Xbox sold like shit in Japan. Xcloud and Game Pass is making a lot of publishers and developers in Japan interested in Xbox next gen though. That Suidoken successor that's being kickstarted by the original staff is targeted for Series X and xcloud for example. I wouldn't be surprised to see support grow even further when MS makes GameCore OS more widely available too.

It's not, these games are just multiplat direction, but you can be sure Japan will treat Microsoft as the bottom bitch and get releases years after Nintendo and Sony. Their worldwide sales mostly comes from their ports to PC as well, and the way Gamepass works I doubt they'll see significant numbers if the West truly hates weeb games like Zig Forums spurgs about. Low game hours recorded by players means Microsoft will always have to beg for a game to be on gamepass, big kek, just goes to show weeb games already have their respective places, and Microsoft truly shut themselves out from co-operative development.
