One million sold

>One million sold

It sold less than ARMS. This has to be a huge bomb for Nintendo.

million is profit

>playing a cop

they should make a janny game next, surely it will sell gorillions

Tomb Raider Reboot sold three million and was a complete bomb.

>One of the largest video game franchises that kickstarted gaming becoming popular
>A stand-alone title made by a company that's barely larger than AA-tier studio

It also had a ridiculously overblown budget.
Astral Chain is clearly made on a tight budget.
They literally only designed 9 unique character models, with everyone else in the entire game being a copy of one of the player character models with a generic wig slapped on. There are 3 bosses that reuse the same model, and the 150 enemies in the game are really just 25 kinds with palette swaps. Astral Chain was made very frugally, so it could turn a profit even on slow sales. They've already confirmed a sequel is on the way.

>playing as a cop
UMMMMMM...

>They've already confirmed a sequel is on the way.
Did I miss something? I don't remember seeing Astral Chain 2 confirmed. I will be very happy if this is true.
The robot demons that are destroying the world din du nuffin!

>make a game entirely around the worst part of devil may cry 5
>doesn't do huge numbers
wow what a shock

What would happened if they released this during the USA chimpouts?

New niche IP exclusive.
It did okay/well. I think Platinium is happy with the result.

SJWs have been sperging about the police for a long time.

it was fun

Except they made the worst dmc5 part good

What a crazy world we live in where 1M copies of Astral Chain is a colossal failure, but a record-shattering 400k copies of Ryza makes her Koei's mOsT pOpUlAr ChArAcTeR and a total shoo-in for Smash!

>bootlicker.

Long time indeed, as popos beat up your great grandfathers for trying to negotiate decent wages and work hours. Fuck off with your pig skin slurping, cuck.

Notice how OP also made sure to namedrop ARMS, a game that sold over 2 million units, and implying that it was also considered a "flop"

>Platshit "games" don't sell after Korra, TMNT, Transformers, W101
>On a bing bing wahoo console
Shocking?

union people are too spineless to negotiate anything themselves so they get some other rep to negotiate for them, in the unions interests (but no the workers).

Why do you retards always think anything that sells less than 10mil is a flop

lol you're an idiot.

Thats like comparing a major Hollywood blockbuster installment of a huge established franchise vs a fucking low budget indie movie.

Moronic kiddies saturate this board.

All platinum games are pretty niche action games for the most part. I think even 1 million for them is a big deal, their biggest problems are spending too much dev time on things causing budgets to go up or projects to be cancelled, or half-assing smaller projects (see all licensed games that wasn't Transformers).

>action game that depends on high framerate
>is on a overclocked tablet
>also on a system where their fanbase are notorious for not buying anything 3rd party.

I legitimately find V more fun than Akira and the Legions. Each Legion has its own moves but most of them feel like gimmicks and Akira themselves has pathetically basic combo strings even with 3 weapons; this is on top of only one Legion out at a time. Thre only interesting thing you can do is the positioning moves where you ensnare enemies or snap Akira over to the Legion or have the Legion act as your combo ender or counter attack.

Fully upgraded, V has to juggle way more things at once and try to position and command 3 or 4 entities. It can be a hassle but it's more rewarding to learn. He also doesn't have to deal with bloated RPG-esque progression systems andis in a game where enemies have hitstun animations instead of having numbers fly out of them. V is easily the weakest character in DMC5 but I'd take him over Astral Chain's combat.

there's not a single genre in history that "depends" on framerate, whatever bullshit they fed you is honestly ridiculous

Fighting games cannot function properly at any framerate other than 60 because moves are balanced around what fraction of a second it takes to start up, hit, and recover.

Otherwise you're right.

They literally said that it exceeded expectations. It's a success user.

but user, they can also be designed with 30 fps, or less, or more. it's arbitrary.

cope
you will never play it rofl

V was boring as shit even when not comparing him to other DMC5 characters, what?

i played it on the switch, it's not THAT great, every second i was feeling like "i wish i was playing dmc3"

I can't think of a single fighting game that doesn't run at 60, unless maybe Bushido Blade is 30? I can't recall.

I disagree.
