>I don’t like it because it’s not exactly like the game I played when I was 7
Cringe.
I don’t like it because it’s not exactly like the game I played when I was 7
>Make mediocre zelda game
>Call it paper mario
>I don’t like it because it’s not exactly like the game I played when I was 7
Yep. Also haven't bought a smash game since the catastrophe that was Brawl. Gamecube was actually a console for people who liked video games instead of brainless children, soccer moms, and retirement home grandmothers like the Wii onward is.
>dude lets make an "RPG" where battling enemies besides bosses is 100% pointless
>for the THIRD TIME LOL.
I don't like it because it fucking sucks
I’ve played every paper Mario, didn’t read anyone else’s review or opinion before I played it and I had a good time with it. maybe you’re all a little cucked
Got done with it just yesterday.
Unlike the two shits that came before it its a good game, just still below the first 2. Would consider it even with SPM or just slightly below it.
Both sides of the arguement are autists but by now the defense force is even moreso.
Also its kinda pathetic that the battle system still sucks but at least they didn't copy paste it again like Color Trash did and the bosses are pretty good.
Hi Nintendo! Put me in the tweet!
I'm playing Color Splash for the past few days.
I could ALMOST forgive the ridiculous battle system, but the thing that bothers me most is the total lack of narrative.
It's so fucking bland, there's NOTHING there, it's all about stand alone jokes from infinite numbers of toads.
For once you guys were right
>I like it because it's exactly the same game I've played 3 times in a row now
It isn't pointless though, you get coins. Also they took away the need to grind levels, I'd be more upset if battling was 100% necessary to properly progress. Also the gameplay itself is more practice for boss battles and future puzzles that use the wheel rotation. Also it was fun.
>It's so fucking bland, there's NOTHING there
The dialogue is so much more engaging than any other PM. Face it, you just want them to have hair and hats.
There was never a 'need' to grind levels.
Change isn't bad, but has never = good.
Yep, that's the issue with NuPM, including TOK. It's all shitty jokes and nothing serious, until they decide to kill Bobby in a ridiculous manner and expect you to care.
>would be upset if battling was necessary to properly progress
Gee, you mean like in an actual RPG? Like this one was supposed to be?
>great music
>great graphics
>great level design
>still a shit game because it's not exactly like the game I played when I was 7
Admit it, you know I'm right. They have a great formula that they can copy but they choose to keep intentionally ruining the game.
FINE, if you don't want to use PM1/2's battle system then don't. Copy SPM instead for fucks sake. No reason to reinvent a fucking RPG battle system that's absolutely fucking dreadful
Like, what the fuck were they fucking thinking???????
>Like this one was supposed to be?
It hasn't been that for over a decade, chief.
>you get coins.
and you use those coins to...
>>great graphics
Never made a good game.
>great level design
Eh, it's decent. I guess it's enjoyable if you want to whack things with your hammer to find toads?
The issue is that we're still getting PAPER mario and never Mario Story again.
I wasn't 7 when ttyd came out you lying fag. I was 6. Get your facts ztraight
>I don’t like it because the main mechanic is yet again pointless since battles don’t give you EXP and only give you coins, which are plentiful already, making regular battles a net loss for you, on top of the writing being 90% paper puns with the story being pretty much the same as the previous 2 games*
ftfy
They're still marketing it as one though
Don't fix what isn't broke, they just want it to have a simmilar battle system and more interesting side characters than Red Toad #13 & Red Toad #44
>Eh, it's decent. I guess it's enjoyable if you want to whack things with your hammer to find toads?
All right, "replace great level design" with "cool overworlds". The level design is pretty great if you disregard the fucking Toad autism.
>Copy SPM instead for fucks sake.
SPM isn't a bad paper mario game. It's just a bad game.
Buy things and assist in battles? Dunno where you're going with this but coins are necessary to 100% and even progress at certain points. Did you play it, user?
Technically anything with a numbered HP system is an RPG. It's an RPG, you just don't like how it's done.
>Face it, you just want them to have hair and hats.
No, stop projecting.
I just want a good story telling with memorable moments and characters.
SPM is my favorite in the series and it doesn't have a single partner with hair or hats.
Color Splash is a garbage entry with a untied, bland story telling and not a single memorable character.
it's boring and lacks charm. That doesn't mean it's 100% garbage but it feels like a hollow experience that you'll never touch again after beating it once
YES, SPM is a good game while this is not
>No, stop projecting.
I like that everyone doesn't need a fancy hat to be special. It means the writers actually have to come up with engaging dialogue. None of the dialogue save the nerd section in SPM is anywhere near as engaging or charming as CS and OK. Sorry Bobby wasn't wearing helmet so you couldn't enjoy his dialogue.
>SPM is my favorite in the series and it doesn't have a single partner with hair or hats.
It did have partners, it was the OC brigade that never said anything worthwhile who all had boring and useless abilities.
>Color Splash is a garbage entry with a untied, bland story telling and not a single memorable character
>DUDE! Who cares if the dialogue is funny if it's coming from a regular toad!
This. Constant jokes and HAHA ARTS AND CRAFTS only get you so far. What people want is an actual adventure in what feels like a real Mario World.
>NO WHY WOULD YOU CRITICIZE THE DESIGNS BEING BRAINDEAD, THE LACK OF CHARACTERS, THE STORY BEING EMPTY AND BLAND AT BEST, THE DIALOGUE HAS FUNNY TWITTER MEMES SO IT'S GOOD
>Dunno where you're going with this but coins are necessary to 100%
That applies to literally ANY JRPG
But the thing is: you don't need to fucking buy everything in a JRPG
Like, do you buy every single piece of equipment every single time you reach a new town in any JRPG?
You're free to skip every single battle in origami king since money isn't important. You don't need to get all stat boosting accessories unless you suck at a babies game
